Wasnt there a Gannet in someones garden just outside of Swindon, by a Roundabout I seem to remember – it would have been in the early 90’s?. I was sure it was mentioned on here before but I cant find any other listing for it.
It was at Cricklade if I remember correctly.
It does but there has to be a victim making a claim of fraud first. The local District Attorneys will not file a proactive attack on fraudsters which is a crying shame. Even when you do have a victim it is still very difficult to get them to go after the people involved.
A pity. There is an offence in Britain of ‘going equipped to cheat’ which might help prevent it here … if it was reported … and the law could be bothered.
Fascinating – lots of non-Lockheed products there.
It seems a little odd that he identified the other Hurricane as ‘P3700’ you would have thought it would have been described as ‘E’ or ‘Easy’ … ?
I’d better leg it over there to see them!

Before they walk …
As you so rightly say, a sad loss of one who served his country so well.
Are you asking who built better aeroplanes or who built their aeroplanes better?
Propeller shaft (think P39 etc) :diablo:
but the German types look as in the dark as they were before,
Before I read your comment I was just thinking how appropriate the lighting was for nightfighters!
Thanks for the heads-up. To be honest I found it a bit dissapointing; not too much on ‘intruding’ in the accepted sense, too much general Mosquito ops. Usual mismatched wartime film clips.
It is a confusion, some steam engines were kept in reserve in WW 2 in tunnels, but not for long.
Thats another confusion … !

That looks remarkably intact, must be one of the most complete WWII wrecks around?
Would the carrier aircraft then in use have had sufficient power to do a ‘bolter’ if they missed all the wires?
Unfortunately, if the current thinking is true, Major Glen Miller wishes that they could have been jettisoned “safe”.
Wasn’t it speculated that it was either the splash or even a direct hit (rather than explosion) that brought his aircraft down?
