It would be good to see them on here 🙂
Amazing condition.
There were also questions of need and affordability. Distances in the UK made it less easy to justify and Post WWII Austerity would have weighed against the idea too
I have quite a collection of those, mine were bought by my grandfather, at the time.
No mystery:
No mystery? Surely it’s odd that they came to be dumped there?
I’m assuming that people had to be banned one-by-one, and the vandal had a boredom threshold.
Yes, my ‘banning’ message just said ‘who cares’ … I’m feeling hurt!
What is the big deal with quoting other posts? Every other forum that I use has no issues with it.
Why have I lost the quote function?
Yes, that’s gone …
Thanks for my unbanning too 🙂
Looking good 🙂
Still deep in storage as far as I’m aware!
Envelope or Jiffy bag? 😀
I don’t believe all of them were pressurised though.

A post about a non-Spitfire turning into a thread about Spitfires? Why that would never happen here. 🙂
The original question did specifically invite discussion of other types.
I thought, from the thread title, that the question was about fighters, not Photo reconnaissance or bomber aircraft?
Spitfire VII was pressurised? Westland Welkin.
Tremendous 🙂 Thanks for that … You should write a book 🙂
