but also another advantage in a single engine a/c was that by inverting the engine the pilot/windscreen did not get covered in oil from the rocker gear etc 🙂

Wouldn’t rocker covers and gaskets (with a smear of stag compound) take care of that issue a little better than inverting the whole engine? 🙂

It could probably benefit from being kept somewhere other than your attic – the temperatures in such places can vary considerably and you would not want it to deteriorate.

I have seen such disclaimers on tickets in the UK before and its not unheard of for the Commentators at a show to mention the risks of airshows before a show has started. I wonder if such things would cover an incident as awful as this though.
