Woah! They are the craziest wingtip vortices I have ever seen! 😮
I think it’s a Varig DC-10 dumping fuel?
Why is it named “Joe”?
Is it any relation to our own dear Silver Snapper? 😉
The RAC guy told me today it had been dubbed “Joe” but dunno who after?

The market is closing.

Superb shots – Is this the tour that Joe went on the other week ?

Excellent report and photos. I’ve still yet to make my first flight on a ‘prop’. 🙁
Just out of curiosity, kaplan dig, how long did your flight from Edinburgh to Jersey take?
About an hour and a half IIRC?
It’s quite cramped onboard with a two by two seating arrangement. I was in the aisle for the outbound trip. The flight is scheduled to take an hour and ten minutes but in reality it can be as little as 45-50 mins depending on the winds?
On board we were soon underway, and offered a ham salad sandwich, tea or coffee and a drink from the bar.
Nice views of snowy mountains and glens most of the trip. 😀
Great stuff! My last prop flight was on a BAW ATP EDI-JER-EDI and they sure can rattle 😮
KLM use PIK for training flights quite often. Prestwick was the first UK airport to see their new 777’s for example and just last week they had a 747 in for some circuit bashing.
Visiting can be like going to an airshow sometimes, with different types coming and going and others doing circuits round the left and right sides of the field.
It can either be a good day out or a really quiet one, ‘famine or feast’ as the saying goes.
“KLM 777 at PIK?” That would make a good thread….

Training flight,
PIK management were said to be rather annoyed with FR increasingly littering their grounds with retired 737’s. Apparently FR would dump them over night when no one else was about to stop em.
Certainly not heard of that one.
