I’m surprised someone hasn’t posted a picture of Victorville or Good Year
Here we go –
Another race
Agreed !
Excellent thread, and well done Moondance for getting out of bed to receive that scanner. Have you considered letting Loganair or the Scottish Museum of Flight see these pics, just might pay for that scanner? 😀
Excellent pics indeed, nice to see a pic of the Iberia 747 especially!
Went to PIK, it was wet, grey and miserable. But hey, I saw a DC-8 !!! 🙂
And the other stuff too…
So did I 😉 But mine aren’t as good quality as yours! 😮
I thought it was going to depart r/w 🙁 21 in the first pic but it was just going down to the 03 threshold to load up (any ideas what it was carrying) then about an hour or so later it departed 31 for Baku.
The first airfield is Perth / Scone, still then complete with now gone Trident!
Andy
Well done! 😀
very good shots, wheres the dc-10 from?
Er, I can’t remember 😮
Really am likeing the bmi Fokker 100 at the top, Leeds arrival most probably?
Looks like fire presence at the TU154 in the background too?
Thanks, I can’t remember exactly why the Fire Engines were out but it wasn’t serious IIRC.
Yeah, what the hell is that heavy smoke in the background?
Fire in an Engineering/Electrical factory, 🙁
It’s always sad to see planes parked up in storage or for the scrapper in the desert. Even more so when it’s one you’ve flown on.
Here’s Aer Lingus’s Bae 146 EI-CLG at GLA two years ago as I was about to board it to DUB with my buddy Frankie, and in the second picture as she is now in the Mojave Desert…
(picture from A.net)
Always sad to see airliners laid up 🙁 Here’s a few from my ‘Vegas trip a few years back, from ‘Vegas itself, Goodyear and Mesa and sadly including quite a few Prestwick built J31/32’s 🙁
good shots
Thanks, here’s some more –
I like the shots of the Ruslan and the Starlifter
Thanks, I wish the Starlifters still had the same c/s these days 🙁
I take it the Aer Lingus A330 was full of Irish rugby fans heading to the Six Nations game at Murrayfield ?
I would have been on my perch high in the stand behind a TV camera as it passed by, sigh! :p
Sure was!
BA 767’s are a more frequent sight than 777’s in Scotland. I took this very ropey picture a couple of weeks ago at GLA as the light had gone at the end of the day.
Fred Seggie captured one at GLA beautifully on his site http://www.saap.co.uk G-BNWD I think, in August. It was the same one I could see approaching EDI a few days later as I drove along the M8 near EDI’s western approach.
How’s this 🙂 –
3 concorde. 30 August 1983, inauguration of the Super Shuttle (G-BOAA, G-BOAB, G-BOAD)
The CP-air DC-8 looks like it was taken at Prestwick, pity it isn’t in colour.
I know 🙁 The c/s for the time was excellent, a sort of blood red and orange fuselage band with a polished aluninium lower fuselage, excellent.
