Here, here, brill photos mate, especially that sunset and the wing, superb!
Thanks guys! 😀
Great shots, especially the Super Transporter, Air Holland and the two dusk shots.
Keep em coming 🙂
Thanks 😀 I will!
What is a KLM 777 doing in Scotland?
Glasgow Prestwick is used fairly regulary by various a/c from various airlines for crew training, this KLM 777 had only been delivered a few days previous, here are a few more pics 😉
Hi Kaplan
Very nice photos would love to hear those props on that Russian A/c going at full throttle on take off.
BTW are you airside when taking your photos or just have a good zoom lens
Cheers
Not airside and not really a zoom lens, at PIK and GLA if you know where to go you don’t need them 🙂
Machester on Saturday??? 😮
You’ve gotta be kidding…! The weather was miserable in the morning!!! 😡
Don’t believe me???
Great pics, mind you sometimes ‘bad’ weather can make for some interesting shots! 😀
Great photos as per normal for you!!
Thanks 😮 , but I’m just in the right place at the right times………sometimes 😉
Very nice RIP Concorde 😉
Hi guys i’m looking for some info over the weekend i wasn’t able to get onto the forum at all and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this problem and know what the cause of it was.
Yes, me. 🙁
The Shorts I saw said AeroConder along the side of it i’m sure along the top of the fuselage.
BTW what is the construction plant doing in the middle of the airfield is this something to do with them adding another runway or something
Thanks
Er, not yet 😀 They are constructing 2 additional a/c stands for a/c up to 757 size due space constraints on the main aprons. 🙁
Can anyone tell me what the round structure with orange pointy bits on top possibly made of plastic on abbotsford road a couple hundred feet from the Airport Fire Service training area
Cheers
It’s the ‘GOW’ VOR, it used to be located on Eaglesham Moor but moved to GLA a number of years ago. It can and has been used as an Instrument Landing Aid at GLA (VOR/DME Approach) but is mostly used as a waypoint for Transatlantic aircraft, in times past a/c directly over the ‘GOW’ would report to Shanwick eg ” Air France 220 flight level 360 over the GOW” but that’s rarely heard these days. 🙁
Beyond it being written on the crane there is a mothballed short marine carrier in the background there from the shutdown naval base. 🙂
Where was the location of the picture from your previous picture group?
The one with the stadia was the same flight but further out on the approach.
Great photos, what was the EAF doing there?
A charter ro SFB last year.
Nice shots.
When are they from?
Thanks, this year and 2003.
Number 6 is Glasgow again!
That AeroConder Shorts 360 is parked up the side of the runway, which seems like a slight giveaway.
A 757 this time? BA 757s don’t seem to common at Glasgow, so I’ll opt for a charter airline, maybe Thomas Cook?
1) AAL 767-300 ORD-GLA
2) AFR A330 ATL-CDG
3) EZY 737 AMS-GLA
4) EZY 737 GLA-AMS
5) US 767 PHL-GLA
6) US 767 PHL-GLA
7) Globespan 737 GLA-TFS
8) US 767 GLA-PHL
And here’s the pic from US23 into Philly, how can you tell? 😀
🙂
Can anyone tell me if there are specific days 747s arrive and depart from Glasgow or is it just pot luck when they arrive and depart
Cheers
Think they may have finished for the season but if it’s wide bodies that you’re after then Glasgow has plenty in the shape of daily –
Emirates A330
ZOOM 767-300
American 767-300
Continental 767-400
US Air 767-200
Air Canada 767-200
As well as the various Tour Operators with their A330’s, 767’s A310’s etc etc 😀
