I’d like to drive my British Racing Green (BRG) E-type to the beach and take off in my Grumman Goose. If that’s too “heavy” then my Widgeon then… to some tiny Caribbean island…
Work? gotta thinkabouddit…
I can ask, esp if I egress/eject from this place in time to run by there before they realize 1) it’s Friday and 2) it is very nearly brewskie time.
He was pretty full up on planes. There was a homebuilt in one small paint booth in back.
The grill there was busy today. Lots of parents and granparents with little kinder getting kicks out of watching the planes! Fun to watch. 😀

A bloke in the ATA; a “target rich environment” then?
One of my dad’s missions in a B17 over Europe with the 615th Sq in the 401st BG(H) out of Deenethorpe…

Hi Swiss…
Flying a Chalks Ocean Airways Grumman Mallard turboprop from Ft Lauderdale into the harbor at in Nassau, Paradise Island. (and back) Low over the clear ocean into the harbor right over the sailboat masts, landing smoothly beside ocean liners. Watching the gear go down and powering up the steep ramp right to its own customs hut by the Atlantis Resort. Only holds 16, no cockpit door, Luggage up in the nose came out a bit wet.
Totally awesome. I watched seaplanes all my life in Miami and finally got to ride in one. It was a life’s dream come true.
I was so excited, but my wife was terrified and nearly did not get aboard… LOL LOL

Going 1v1?
Why do that when you save YOUR team’s lives by being stronger?
Sure send in 100 if the opponent has 100? Right.
Now that I read your comment, I recall my junior high school principal could not talk above a wisper. He was gassed in WW1.
Speaking of old buried stuff… Maybe not old aircraft, but this very recently in the news, 3 airmen from Dover AFB, Delaware, were called to examine an old munition found in fill material dumped in a nearby driveway. It may have been an old WW1 artillery shell among masses of munitions back then disposed of at sea. It is believed to have apparently dredged up in fill used in driveways.
One shell went off, and it had old but good mustard gas in it… An airman went to the hospital in pretty blistered up and others got ill. I saw a photo but can’t find it now. Nasty stuff! Lucky airman! The article says it is not uncommon to find old grenades in driveways using this type fill.
