Flying Legends display is I have heard a great day out but from reading this post the author in someway is admitting defeat because gate receipts and sales of trinkets has remained static, but looking at this from another direction would it not be a better interpretation to say that after all the official interference in the activities of air shows is it not a great thing that numbers have stayed high over the years and sales are still good indicating that there is an ongoing interest in the activities of Flying Legends.

You also ask people to highlight their reasons for not presenting themselves at each show and site cost distance and time constraints as possible causes for this.

Well here are my reasons for not considering attending.

Folks that attend flying displays do so because they wish to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the event, eat hot dogs and wander around the exhibits at close quarters, vicariously living out their dreams I suppose is one way to put it, instead they are treated to brief flypasts often at greatly enforced distances of aircraft flown not to impress the crowds but instead so as not to upset the display police, then to wander in serried rows shuffling along neatly laid out safety fencing which keeps them away from the exhibits and as near as possible too the burger vans, only to leave at the end of the day with a few fuzzy pikkies, an inflatable harrier and more than probably stomach trouble.

In short apart from the die hard’s people don’t go anymore because they feel in someway they are being denied the very reason they went there, to enjoy the aircraft displays both flying and static and I myself feel this way also, having driven out too Biggin in 2004 only to be treated to rows of burger vans and trinket sales tents occasionally interrupted by displays, I left with the idea that I would never again attend another air show, Living in Eastbourne I am treated yearly to their four day event, but in truth the only time I actually know it’s going on is when the BBMF or the Reds fly over the house and I can then recall a time when an air display really was.

I have always ignored WINZIP in favour of another far more versatile product, WINRAR. and have never had a single problem with downloads and installation.

Obviously meant as a bung for some fuselage opening meant possibly to sit flush with the outer skin once inplace with spring retaining clips and I would hazzard a guess that the holes are for removal, nothing came of a search on the serial number though, bit of an oddity this one.

Thanks for that post John, seems there is more of the TSR floating around than some cared to admit.

Nice to see this one out and about again, but watch them capacitors, they can give you a nasty bite for a suprisingly long time after power is removed.

Having followed this story for many years it is not surprising that he managed to go undetected for so long considering the small area of Montreal he operated in and the almost total lack of interest the authorities took in the inhabitants of that area, small wonder his victims numbers into possibly triple figures, a fitting end in my mind woould be for his family members to be obliged to feed him alive to his blessed pigs for to be sure they knew all about his actions.

The Beckhams will only leave for the US when thier marketing people decern there has been a drop of in public interest in the pair, movement will be preceded by world wide press anouncements to ensure that once again the Beckhams produce the finacial goods that the public seems so willing too pay for these microscopic life forms, God help us all when the American Marketing Guru’s get to work on these two….. 😡

It’s A Jodel and a steal for anyone wanting a small easy to fly and maintain two seater, the engine alone is worth the bidding.

Was at the Blue Lias on the Stockton Road a couple of years back while looking over a nearby narrow boat, No aircraft there then so I am guessing they had long since been removed. Live local has a good Aerial of the place and shows nothing there now.

Things moving apace at Brunty, Jet pipes just went in this week, Wing spar mod is complete and work started on corrosion rectification in various places according to the engineers reporting too the forum, well worth dropping in for a look at the new website and the picture/video section.
