Just had two days of my access being blocked by “Google,” demanding my E-mail address and password; I totally ignored it, and went elsewhere, and, today, my access has cleared, as if by magic.

Interesting to learn that the Hunter had an afterburner . !

The intake is underneath, where the airbrake would normally go, so very difficult to see, and was also the reason for the “clamshell” brakes on the side of the fuselage.

Blame Churchill and his habit of ‘**** licking’ monarchial arses.

While Attlee was Prime Minister; good trick if he could do that. Read history; don’t rewrite it.

Ironic, really, when you consider how, when the Allies needed Germany to be rebuilt in a hurry, just after the war, Greece (having been occupied, its inhabitants murdered, and possessions systematically looted) was persuaded to let Germany off its debts. I suspect the Greeks feel that they’ve been had; my father told me how, also just after the war, he was confronted by a “typically arrogant” (his words) Nazi pow, who told him,” You have beaten us twice in war, but we shall win the peace.” For Adolf, read Angela?

Not just European; the BBC no longer employs actresses and comediennes, just actors and comedians.

The position of that bulge matches where the compressor was fitted; on early Marks it was a “B.T.H. Type AV” (whatever that means,) which was quite small. According to Vickers, it was replaced by a “Heywood” compressor in March 1942, which, in a drawing, appears to jut up higher than the earlier type. On later Marks, this needed a fairing to allow cooling air around it. Maybe today’s compressor also needs extra space, hence the larger bulge.
The Coffman starter bulge was low down on the starboard engine cover, just behind the propeller.

Really? Telling lies? When part of my comment involved a figure something like 0.000001? Really? Please continue making a fool of yourself if you insist. From some of the stuff you’ve posted previously I doubt you’d recognise a true fact if it hit you between the eyes!

    Lost something, have you?

    It’s called exaggeration for effect,

No, it’s called deliberately telling lies, and does nothing to improve the way you’re seen in some quarters.

Cost of 10 seconds of nurses time: GBP 1.00

    No brainer.

Well, the last two words are pretty accurate; no nurse (and I know several) earns £360 per hour.
