Standard fighter dimensions were 24″ high, 12″ wide, 3″ apart, and brushstrokes 3″ wide; however, due to the lack of space between the bottom of the opened canopy and the top of the wingroot fillet, Spitfire Squadrons had a special dispensation to use letters 20″ high. Some Squadrons did, some didn’t, so photographs are really preferable, to be absolutely certain.

So, the moral is, if you’re going to bury a British aircraft, don’t put an American car in with it.

How many illegals can you get in a C17?

Depends on whether you supply parachutes.

I’m bringing both by the bucket load.

When I was a child, our outside toilet consisted of a bucket, though it was never used by a bull.

One abiding memory, I have, is of my mother slapping my hand away, if it was over my mouth, telling me that it’s rude to cover your mouth while speaking.

50-odd years ago, a rebuilt SE5a was flown at the Farnborough Airshow, and fired live rounds into a sandpit situated in front of the crowd line.

I’m getting a little tired of seeing a headline banner, on here, telling me that 3 people have “unfriended” (where the He– did that god-awful word come from?) me. And, no, I’m not going to find out who, because I don’t b—-y care.

But the trouble is that the old saying that “Rules are for the obedience of fools, and the guidance of wise men” is being increasingly left in the dust. There are too many little people, who care more about showing their immediate superiors how good they are at following the “rules” than showing any humanity towards those involved. Until these “jobsworths” are weeded out, and slung out (and their bosses with them,) and society begins to care a bit (actually a lot) more, things will never change.
There was a recent case, reported yesterday on BBC South, how a girl, in a special needs school, reported (twice) that she’d been raped by one of the boys, and she was expelled for breaking a school rule about not having sex on school premises. Definitely, the inmates are now running the asylum.
