Bump!
Is there an online (or offline) reference for Mosquito constructor’s numbers? I’m particularly curious about DZ542 and TE881.
Part three. Well worth the watch. https://youtu.be/D7n7-4e0lm4?si=vHeS5CzFRmw6WSma
Absolutely fascinating stuff, the excitement of EJ693 possibly flying again notwithstanding.
That’s a great find Dave! Part of me is surprised we’ve not learned the pilot took a load of photos so MiG, Sukhoi, Yakovlev etc could build their own version. I wonder how his experience shaped Russian fighter design, if at all?
My pleasure!
I think that one has, but it turns out the Turks have two others:
“Correction and Update: Turkish Air Force has two other C-160Ds upgraded in Gören-1 standard in use as ISR platforms of the MIT (Turkish Intelligence). One of them is 68-023 which is currently grounded and 69-040 is the other which is airworthy. Now, THK has two options: 1-Retiring 69-040 as there is No reserve for it due to withdrawal of 69-036 from service. 2-Complete overhaul and restoration of 68-023 to use as replacement for 69-036 which is now out of service.”
I check in every other day just in case!
How wonderful, thank you very much for sharing that! (my apologies to all for derailing the thread)
Thank you, I shall go hunt some Rainbows!
Without wishing to derail the thread (but being unable to contain my curiosity): are there other photos with/of the XF-12 from this set/date?
TT is quite right: I was referring to the Ju.87B/R subtypes.
“By all means use the parts as patterns for a new build in a similar to the Flugwerk FW190s”
Something I’ve dreamed of for a long time, although being a B/R fan I’d go with scanning the Chicago example (which I think was done a few years back?). I reckon they’d sell a couple – maybe not 12, but I expect the market would be there!
Very exciting!
“as they slowly start the assembly of the CR-42” Words to warm the heart!
They say it’s a 109G, there are others who say it’s a Buchon: regardless, to me it looks fantastic.
