What the rest said! A new ‘788 update is a real tonic and is always welcome.
Me too! I had to save the original photo from Facebook because it’s so pretty. I’m surprised as I don’t normally like night schemes.
TV959 is set to fly for the first time in the USA on Sunday at 1pm, and to make its first airshow appearance on 22 July:

You’ve sharper eyes than I, Laurent! I know they are to do a project for Jerry Yagen and another for Kermit Weeks, so perhaps they’re all in this delivery. A staff member for Avspecs said on Facebook it’s Jerry’s.
I saw photos on Facebook over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised as I’d had no idea a Whirlwind was flying on the UK airshow circuit. It must be a really neat thing for folk with memories of them in service to be able to see it!
Over on WIX someone pointed out that he was reminded of the crash of NH799 at Wanaka on 2 January 1996 in which Sir Tim Wallis was gravely injured. The start of this video of PS890 shows the pilot doing up his helmet, the same sort of soft one Sir Tim was wearing in the aforementioned crash. Considering the Spitfire ended up on its back – like NH799 – I’m immensely relieved to hear the pilot is okay!
Thanks Mark and MK959! Always nice to be kept up to speed with these things.
Thanks gents, much appreciated. And some reading for me to do!
I can only imagine it was due to cost but I don’t remember if anything was actually said about it. The aircraft joined the HARS collection in early 2015: http://hars.org.au/2015/02/mirage-arrives-hars/

Fantastic photos, DCK!
What TT said! She looks fantastic. I’m a big fan of the finish.
As I said in the DX Diary thread, it must have been a real treat for local forumites to be able to check in on progress over the last eight months.
Very cool to see! This machine always strikes me as being very well looked-after.
Forgive my ignorance: was this one formerly a waterbomber? Alan’s last, close-up photo shows a panel on the underside that I thought looked a bit waterbomber-y.
The Lanc looks great. It must have been a real treat for the local forumites able to check in on progress over the last eight months.
