RE: Sounds familiar.
Yes, it can be seriously irritating when other passengers demand their “right” to space!
RE: Flight Log Book?
Suits me.
RE: Airplane accidents
For me, the key point is as was briefly referred to…
WIRING.
Bundles of wire are often in virutally inacessible locations and actual replacement of the wiring is either a horrendous job or it just does not happen.
RE: Airplane accidents
I’m sure the pilots in this forum will say that there is no difference in safety levels…I’m not so sure personally.
RE: B737 with transatlantic capabilities!
Agreed in full.
RE: B737 with transatlantic capabilities!
I also remember that the established carriers absolutely mauled Skytrain. I am unsure if Ryan or Easyjet can withstand BA/AA pressure (I mean, BA/AA have an awful lot more capacity).
The only success story is Virgin, although I don’t classify them as “low cost” seeing as they are actually “same cost”!
RE: Flight Log Book?
I still say marks out of 10…
I think all of us here are mature enough NOT to post subjective comments! The “out of 10” criteria should be objectively based around:
Price (= max. 3 marks), Punctuality (= max. 3 marks), Assessment of service (= max. 3 marks) plus 1 joker mark. The marks might then be used as a guide to what airlines to use.
RE: Flight Log Book?
I agree that rtn flights should be counted as two separate flights. Bear in mind that people do not always take rtns, or they may come back on another airline or from another airport.
RE: Favourite Holiday Destination
Anywhere a bit off the beaten trail. I wanted to check out Lebanon this Xmas, but my fiance wants to stay in London (she’s an Aussie and she’s never seen our wondrous capital city).
The whole area southern-central Africa is superb (Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Botswana).
US is too full of yanks, if you get my drift!
RE: Flight Log Book?
How about airline, aircraft and marks out of 10?
RE: B737 with transatlantic capabilities!
Well I don’t think they would use JFK – maybe some small unheard of field somewhere in upstate New York if past experience is anything to go by.
RE: Your worst flight……
Quite right! Must be a control-freak phenomenon then…
RE: Your worst flight……
Must feel strange though.
If I were a pilot, it would make me a bit of a control freak – ie. turbulence would be OK as long as its me at the controls but not as a passenger.
RE: Safety
Well, every airline is already audited to ensure their accounts are true and fair. And there is an awful lot to check there, too.
So a safety audit regime shouldn’t be too difficult to set up.
RE: Safety
That’s what I mean, Keltic.
What I was proposing was a safety audit of every airline to assess who safe they are on a variety of factors.
