MAN to Australia.
Can already be done very easily on Singapore or Emirates and also Malaysian I think.I had a look at the flights a few weeks ago and both are OK, but obviously require a change of aircraft, which for a route which needs a stop anyway isn’t really a problem.
Yes but capacity isn’t great by comparision to LHR.
Little League
A connection of small regional airlines offering millions of connection possibilities.
Didn’t Hawker Siddeley try a VTOL Trident in the 70s?
You can buy “Durban” curry sauces in the shops – makes like Nandos, which I personally like.
Tried a lime peri peri sauce last night with my chicken – wonderful!

Yes, that’s true. I didn’t consider the extra frequencies BA operate. No doubt that arose from all the slots BA have, arising from….governmental subsidy!
Maybe UAL vs. Virgin would be a more fair analogy?
By push harder, I meant tolerate a big loss in order to gain market share.
Jeez, thats a sad sight. Well done Thai.
According to something I read on a rival website, the cost was $39 a night. I assume that’s the Kangaroo dollar – which means about fifteen quid a night. That’s extremely good value.
Congrats GD. How far away is “the beach” ? It sounds close by your description of it.
Yes, but at least a few inches are lost.
I liked it upstairs – I prefer small crowds to big ones I guess. I just felt a little claustrophobic and I attributed it to the storage bins. Maybe you’re right about hardly and elbow room being lost – I was very tired for the whole flight and in a grumpy mood!
As of itself, I agree with you GD. Indeed, the US is free to do as it pleases. Unfortunately “subsidies” are not restricted to US domestic flights, but apply to all operations.
Imagine UAL and BA are competing on the LHR-IAD route. It is just conceivable that UAL will push harder than BA, because they know that in the worst case, the US government will help them.
What are the consequences of that….the only surviving airlines will be the ones with subsidies. Service will fall, prices will rise, the airline world will be a poorer place. Your tax bill will shoot up at the same time; either taxes will be raised or the national debt will increase, which means more cash spent to service the debt, which means…more taxes to maintain the same level of spending.
History has proven time and again that government support never works in the long run.
PS – thanks for the compliments, not sure I’m a guru, but nice to be appreciated.
Freaky.
I woke up in a rickshaw once, somewhere in Dublin. It was my first time in the city and I had a plane to catch for work in the afternoon, but I was totally jiggered. Luckily by the time I got back to the hotel at lunch time, my line manager at work was nearly comatose in his darkened room (we had paid a visit to Dublin to er, “entertain” a client with a known weakness for the black stuff and the ladies) so I got away with it 🙂
Other than that time, my scandals mostly involve dubious dancing, and kebabs with ridiculous amounts of chilli sauce afterwards.

The quality of food is definitely getting worse in the UK – too much fast food.
I do enjoy organic food (I find it far nicer) and my veggies, but there is a big price disparity. I suppose we do eat more things like pasta these days, so less fish n’ chips….but also more Big Macs and Bacon Double Cheeseburgers 😮
