Hi buddy, do you really think it is a good idea? Where would you sent your inquiry when looking for FANA Su-22 serial nummbers, to the KNAAPO????:very_drunk: There were three L-39ZO grounded and abandoned at Luanda airfield military site since 2000. Probably they were delivered in late nineties from Iraq, Syria or Libya.
Martinez
below picture is from Catumbela though

Are you serious that these light-blue L-39ZOs grounded in the hangar building with flat tyre were sighted at the Luanda AFB?
IMHO, There was the only one light-blue L-39ZO prominently photographed next to MiG-21,23 in open storage at the Luanda AFB.
Contrary to your eye-witness, The facebook from which I found these two light-blue L-39ZOs was singing a diffrent tune. there was a very short caption in portuguese “Sargentos recém formados na*Escola de Armadas e Serviços- Namibe” that reads ” Newly trained sergeants in School and Armed Services-Namibe” in english.
Anyway, It’s highly interesting in that they were supplied from multiple sources like Iraq, Syria, Libya.
First time that I had ever heard about it.
BTW, Do you have any pics of some weathered FANA Su-25s in non-airworthy condition?
I saw several pics of them dumped in the numerous dispersals at the Catumbela AFB.
Mostly from the ones photographed by the russians, then uploaded at the most popular russian photo album website like foto.mail.ru…etc.
TIA
Any chance you can find serial numbers of those light blue L-39ZO? Great pictures anyway, many thanks, it seems they are not flightworthy more than 15 years.
Btw. inside the FANA L-39SIA is the SPARROWHAWK Head-up display from CMC electronics.

My pleasure!! Martinez
Looks like there is no way to know the serial numbers of those FANA L-39ZOs in light-blue finish for me unless you refer to”Aero Vodochody”,
These light-blue L-39ZOs in storage were said to be photographed at Escola de Armadas e Serviços- Namibe.
Martinez!! Sounds like you’re now working in the aviation industry.
In that case, Mind if you can upload more FANA pics in your collection here?

Hopefully they can take care of your inquiry.

Friend cy24 driver once again want to thank the great pictures of FANA , I would like visitasses the unofficial site that already have a few years. I would like to share convosco.http : //carloskioko.wix.com/forcaaereaangolana
Dear My friend from Angola, Mr Ombaka !!
I was aware of your unofficial website dedicated to the FANA a few years back.
But it was disappointing that your unofficial FANA website lacks greatly some sort of interesting photos, only full of photoshopped images.
In your country, Is it hard to acquire a few FANA yearbooks or booklets containing a lot of superb photos in it?
I can’t assure you confidently that I would surely continue posting FANA pics, though, will see what I can do for you.
With no doubt, Collecting pics of the FANA is a part of my hobby, so feel free to keep your eyes open for more to come.
Greeting from your friend, Jin-ho, South Korea

Elbit was never involved, the joint venture between IAI and Odessa ended abruptly after first flight of the modernized L-39C, then IAI turned to us with the same proposal in 2005. We overhauled, modernized and delivered 4 L-39SIA to FANA. The modernized L-39 are a training platform for the Su-22.
