For the most part Challenger II and M1A1/2 use similar armor with the exception that many of the M1s have the added layer of DU armor.
Challenger 2 has Dorchester armour, which is a refinement of Chobham. The Abrams has Chobham, but with a DU layer. Dorchester is said to have a layer of tungsten that fulfills a role similar to the DU.
Psychologically it can be said that a long large radome set between two large intakes is “naturally” pleasing to the eye because it is a penile suggestion.
Are penises really that pleasing to the eye?
I love the look of this one, reminds me of some kind of filter-feeding sea creature (basking shark?)
Very nice pictures.
No, but it is composite armour.
If the EF is a relic of the cold war then so is the Rafale.
the only restriction on the current ‘j’ fleet is they can’t do SF work, but thats not the airfrmes fault, its just because the haven’t fitted all the special equipment that the SF aircraft have.
I’ve always wondered what such equipment consists of. Any ideas?
I really don’t think that would be a good idea. For example, the Americans were decidedly lukewarm about the British resolve to take back the Falklands after the islands were invaded.
i think is technical issues……
Such as?
Yeah, I’m not saying the French are blameless … who would ever say that? :diablo:
Why don’t we use a realistic scenario, e.g. EF & F-22 vs. Iran’s IADS.
Nor is it likely to be any fighter or UCAV. The most likely adversaries are SAMs as part of an IADS.
Ha, yes, someone should make a thread about that.
Oman: VERY active. All upgraded to full J97 standards.
Can you say what those standards are? Are they all the latest upgrades including everything?
it should be compared to the next gen. fighters which it will enocounter .
Yes, which are not the F-22 or F-35.
