Sad sad day, my sincere condolences to the family.
Sorry, i do not go to Flying Legends to see jets and especially the American propaganda machine at work. I was so disgusted i turned my back on the display and read a book ( the book i bought whilst leaving my chairs and windbreak at the front ).
I pay for my tickets in advance, so pay if there is a show or not, i drive 150 miles, have days off work to be there, i camp at Fowlmere from Friday till Monday and get up at 5.30 to get to the gate at 6.00, so i can get a place at the front in order to ensure my elderly parants can sit down and see the display. I also donated to the Airspace, did you????
My parents stay in local hotels and after the show we eat out, so all in all we contribute to the local economy, so think carefully if you ban chairs/windbreaks because we may have to go elsewhere.
There was a lot of stands/stalls not there this year, and plenty of gaps not filled, something amiss there i think, cost maybe?
I have been going to Flying Legends for years, to put a current military jet in the show to me is a No No, if i want to see that sort of thing i would go to other airshows. Once the propaganda show was over then the show was as always brilliant.
Its a toy, not a collectors item. yes its not marked right but what 4 year old would be bothered.
Yes very sad, spoke to him last year. They all will be missed and well remembered.
It’s the same old story over and over again, i’m new to this forum lark, in fact this is my first one. All this bickering disgusts me, do you lot have anything better to do, you are worse than my kids.
I came to this forum to get information, hear about aircraft and whats happening to them, and to get to know about whats new in the warbird circle.
If you want to attract more people to this topic then i suggest all those involved with this bickering, go away and do it somewhere else.
It is those that should know better that are causing problems, i agree with Jimmy.
Get your selves into order or you will be left on your own, because no one wants to hear you. Other forums can be set up and you will be left to stew.
Many thanks Tony, shall look into it.
Ouch………. Glad your ok. Hope my dozy dog looks after me if i get in trouble.
Welcome Andy, Great pics, just what i said in the debate, takes you back 60 years.
Great photos, not a rain drop in sight.
Good un Franck, better than i can do. thanks.
Sounds good to me, i can’t take photos to save my life, so i do like to look at other peoples photos.
What a great show, i took my father down for the weekend as a present for his 70th birthday, his smile never left his face for the whole two days.
Price;- £25 quid, well worth it. You can watch 22 men kick a bag off wind round for 90 mins for alot more.
We watched from the land warfare hall end and i was a little disappointed that some aircraft didn’t land long and taxi back past us so we could all have a good photo shoot. There may have been reasons for them cutting back that i am not aware of but would of been nice.
Commentator;- didn’t notice him much too busy watching the show.
Food;- What do you expect, as we say up north “London prices”.
The show;- Great, will always go and see it come rain or shine.
Re-enactments;- Take a photo of them in black and white, you have gone back 60 years. Great.
I always get there at 6.45 am, (i camp near by). I also park front row on the bank in front of the Land Warfare Hall and view from that side. I find that the best spot now, i also used to go to the other side but it has been changed now and can get quite packed.
If it does rain then there is plenty to do and see. Before you know it the days gone, but sunday isnt far away.
Yes 75squ it was. Wellingtons from Jul 39 till Nov 42.
How about a pub, hanger, canteen, or 19th hole where all those wanting to chat about what time their going out, hows the dog, etc, can talk.
Sometimes its hard work sifting through a thread, going through all their personnal chatter trying to find a spot to reply to the original thread.
