I was told by a work colleague that a ‘German’ (ie had crosses on the wings) plane was seen on a low loader going through Southampton yesterday. Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be ?

I may be being pedantic but it seems a shame that they keep referring to them as Messerschmitts

Swiss company Boschung Global Ltd. has uncovered six rare Messerschmitt ME 109 fighter planes that were used during the Second World War

when they aren’t original Messerschmitts and weren’t used in WW2

Im sure I read that Vengeances’ were modified to provide some of the Japanese planes in Tora Tora Tora

Lets hope they find time to fix the undercarriage on the Spitfire
