There’s a subtle but very important difference between “direct” and “non-stop”, Flex.
“Direct” means that you do stop on the way, but don’t change aircraft.
“Non-stop” means just that. 🙂
Airlines and Airports frequently use both terms for flights which don’t require a stop over.
For example, on one of many bmi press releases they state “Starting Saturday 22 April, bmi, officially the UK’s most punctual airline at Heathrow, increases its popular four times weekly direct service to Mumbai to daily”

Errr…..What do you think GSM are using on MAN-CPT Flex? 🙂
Gaz
Is it Direct to CPT? I very much doubt it as MAN-CPT give or take is 5500 nautical miles which is bordering on the B763s max range.
Flex 35
I was of the understanding that these flights would be operated by XLA 767-300ERs.
MAN-CPT direct, B763? No chance! 😉
Good luck to TCY though, hopefully they can pull it off.
But, please keep the scallies away from South Africa, its a nice place!
Flex 35
You were lucky to fly on so many easyJet B733s, they are disappearing fast.
Flex 35
Is it just me that thinks none of them are funny….
Flex 35
It is great to see pilots choosing this forum over the other one (PP) This one is more laid back. It’s so much more refreshing!
Hardly. I don’t think that is happening or ever will happen.

LCC’s do seem to be quite expensive on the Spanish routes, the shorter routes they seem to be as cheap as ever, if you book in advance.
They certainly do. The Spanish routes are the ones I’m interested in! Very expensive for October half term even this far in advance! Crazy, hopefully the prices will reduce soon.
Flex 35
Is it just me or are LCC’s not that cheap anymore? Sign of the times I suppose with all these fuel costs etc.

Nice report. I tried MAN-STN-MAN out myself in April with AB. I got a B738 there and a B73G back! 😀
I found Air Berlin to be OK, we only got tasteless muffins and water! 😉
I found Stansted to be a nice airport, bigger than I expected really.
Please do a similar report for your Jet2 and bmibaby flights!
Cheers

Pretty good.
I think its always better from a viewing perspective when there using 06.
Flex 35
I must get a window seat! 😉
I also like boarding as soon as possible, I don’t like being last on the aircraft!
Flight deck visit too. 😉

Holiday Inn (Used to be a Moat House) is the ideal place to park.
Beware – its a very long walk to the area and there are no places for refreshments etc. so make sure you bring a drink.
Flex 35
Nope, thankfully, although the early aircraft are tatty especially the cloth seats but at least EI-CSA – EI-CSE are leaving in 2007. (Probably sell them for more than the cost of the new aircraft)
Well I thought the exact same thing when I flew on EI-DAG (delivered in 2003) last December. It had the much nicer cloth seats but the cabin was so scruffy and in bad condition it was unbelievable! 😮
I’m not sure why an aircraft which was only a few years old looked like it had been in operation from the 1980s from the state of the cabin. Quite sad really. I suppose that’s from people treating the insides with no respect.
easyJet don’t seem to suffer as bad though which is quite strange?
Flex 35
Nice pics, it seems like it was a nice day for flying! 😀
I wish Ryanair had painted the winglets though on the other sides, they look a bit boring left white.
Flex 35
redsquare,
Is the bus style cabin been retrofitted to aircraft – EI-CSA-EI-DAN? I hope not! 😛
