    Seems to be a demand for old 757’s at the mo.

    Well there is a demand for 757s. The old ones must be either very cheap or the few that are available.

    Whoever from GSM thought it was a good idea to acquire those particular rustbuckets hasn’t obviously got there head screwed on right.

    They were dire for XL on their charter schedule; god knows what they’ll be like doing atlantics every day.

    The passengers who voted for Jet2 probably are not able to pay Lufthansa or BA prices, or would wish to do so. The key word is low cost.

    I have found Jet2 to continually be the most expensive low cost carrier in the UK, period. In some instances they make BA look cheap!

    The only way you’ll get a cheap fare with Jet2 is if you only fly to BFS or AMS, elsewhere they are
    are expensive.

    £750 for four people to Spain in October isn’t low cost mate. 😉

    I have the Maycom AR108, it’s great! Bought it 4 years ago and its still working and sounding fine, plus the real plus point is the size – it’s tiny – ideal for the airport as you can keep easily in your pocket.

    I would go for that one, but there are loads around, so have a look on the various websites and pick one which suits you best – obviously the more expensive you go the better.

    Just because the aircraft is “older” doesn’t mean its automatically going to have tech problems. Jet2 happen to have a high dispatch rate on their B737s despite their age. bmibaby on the other hand don’t seem to and their B737s are 10 years newer than Jet2s!

    Just realised that they spell it ‘Girona’! Ah well, when I flew there, Thomson called it ‘Gerona’, thats my excuse and i’m sticking to it!

    Tom your 100% correct spelling it “Gerona”, that is the actual Spanish spelling of the place, the Catalan spelling is “Girona”. Both ways are fine, just take your pick of which one to use – the Spanish or Catalan version!

    I don’t see why on such a short flight like this you couldn’t have done it yourself; it would have taken a few minutes at the most?

    I can understand seeking help on a long haul flight with numerous options, or a round the world trip even. But EDI/GLA-LBA, come on! 😉
