Well I think they are going to keep them for a good few years yet. It’s the perfect aircraft for charter operations and the aircraft are still very much airworthy, so I think they’ll be staying for a bit longer yet.
I thought Tommy had returned already for a minute ;).
According to his signature he is back now (God help us! :D). He should be able to tell us what they are like in a bit more detail, I’m flying one next month so I’m interested!

This has been in operation for quite a while. I used it in June, from Manchester-Belfast too. Didn’t seem to work very well.

Probably around 5/6 hours it’s around 2600 nm, depending on which way they want to go. If they decide to go through Scotland its over 3000.

I just don’t see why so many of these threads are necessary. Does it matter what aircraft somebody is going to fly on? Just wait until the day you go and you’ll find out.
You make a good point, espiecially as you can find out in most cases the aircraft type with some self internet research.

I agree, however sometimes if left without a comment they grow out of perspective, especially from operators with which people already have a bad perspective with (which can be undeserved, occasionally spawning from incidents which have been blown ott!)
As you say, just my tuppence worth!
I agree also with you, I mean you do actually know what your on about there is no doubt about that.
Sorry If I was a bit off hand, it’s just that I don’t think you can judge if people know anything or not until you have a 1-1 conversation with them.

Not automatically Rubbishing – I am just aware of how out of hand some of the comments can lead to. We regularly had issues brought up by situations brought up for issues like the above from people who were unaware of an aircrafts design features. I’m a spotter too, but sometimes what you can hear on these type of forums can lead to the rediculous – what happens when Joe Public reads some of these stories, and theories, so of which are dreamt up out of thin air – perhaps sometimes some reading up could be done first?
I only had a short stint working on the Classics with Atlanta, and don’t know the 74s as much as I do of other aircraft, but sometimes experience helps when putting 2 and 2 together.
Possable explanation of situation offered by myself, I would quite happily listern to what explanations some of the other posters could add – perhaps we could then DISCUSS!
Well that is all very true; I wouldn’t say that everyone on this thread doesn’t know what they’re on about though. I mean everyone over-exaggerates things/events when it comes to aviation, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t know what they’re on about just cause of it.
Just my 2 cents. Not having a go btw.
Flex
Please don’t comment (which can turn into scaremonger) if you aren’t certain about what your talking about!
What gives you the right to rubbish what people have said on this thread?

The number 4 engine of TF-AME always seems to smoke, which in itself quite worrying.
Then a few weeks ago while down the side-walk at the Airport Pub loads of fuel starting gushing out of the wing on takeoff, atc told them but they didn’t return back to MAN.
Reminds me of this – http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0789603/M/

Harmless bit of fun my man, but for you ive deleted it.
You didn’t have to delete it, but you can see where I was coming from.

*used to date one woooo mamma*
And we need to know this because…….
Isn’t this a aviation forum, not a date line?
Flex
Try http://www.seldec.com/seldec/. They have a selection of books for spotting etc and also for specialist use like Waypoint charts etc. Good company, used them in the past.
Give them a try.
Flex
Do charter flights count? Eg, Saudi Arabian Hajj flight from MAN/BHX etc?
No, Saudi Arabian isn’t a Charter Airline.
Flex
They are all the same in terms of service. If I had to choose one based on experience it would be Thomas Cook, was quite impressed with them last year.
It’ll be intresting to see how Monarch are too when I fly on them in August to Catania.
Flex
I see aircrafts like that, maybe there was just a aircraft infront of him and he had to slow down?
You gotta be kidding me, not at Leeds surely! :p 😉
Flex
Ok im confused does than mean that a 777 does the MAN-LHR run often then??
Not often but it does happen from time to time. They put a B777 on that evening because one of the previous B737 Gatwick shuttles had been cancelled.
BTW that pic was taken in the morning, the B777 didn’t park on that stand when it arrived. It looks like a B767 tail, also that is the stand the BA 76 normally goes from in the morning.
So to answer the question, no that isn’t a BA 777.
