Hi HectorusRex, Fantastic info thanx, and much appreciated.
Gary
Hi AgCat, My apologies for the wrong terminology. It’s just that my father and myself have always called them crests. Cheers. Gary
It looks like I have started something eh?! My dad says he has a photograph of him standing by the gates of RAF Fassberg and behind him is a sign with some sort of crest. On the photo the crest is indistinguishable but there is an outline, any idea’s anyone? There is a possibility that it could be the crest of 2 Group? Any info gratefully received.
Many thanks once again to all that have sent me info, either privately or on this forum.
Gary
Hi Phillip,
Many, Many thanks for your all your help. I am very grateful. It’s a shame however that most of the crests are not available. I will try and get RAF Middle Wallop and Khormaksar as soon as I can. I did see the mugs advertised on Ebay and did get a number for my parents, great value.
Once again my sincerest of thanks,
Gary
What crests are you looking for? For years I wanted a colour copy of RAF Driffield’s station crest with a King’s Crown. I emailed Joe Bridge and he produced an example for all of us to share. He might be able to help?
Email him…
Hi There, Many thanks for the info. The crests I am looking for are:
RAF Khormaksar (Aden)
RAF Winterberg (Germany)
RAF Sundern (Germany)
RAF Fassberg (Germany)
RAF Middle Wallop (GB)
RAF Wickenby (GB)
Size doesn’t matter as long as it can be blown up to A4 and readable. They are for a book my dad is writing about his life story. This will NEVER be published and only six copies will be made, one for each member of the family.
He is doing this now as he has developed Vascular Dementia and has been recommended to do this project to keep his mind active. His long term memory is as sharp as a button…he just can’t remember what he did five minutes ago! He served 26 years in the RAF so I am looking forward to the end product!
Kindest regards
Gary
Hi Phillip and CDP206, Many thanks for the info…I have tried both these sights and the crests I would like aren’t there, neither the info on the stations. Thanks for trying tho’ I did however think the RAF Marham site very interesting. Keep looking, as will I. Gary

Hello VC-10 fan,
Another lovely aeroplane, I flew back from Singapore in 1969 on one of them, I was nine years of age! Loved it. I have some interesting slides of the aircraft as well.
Many thanks for your computer help as well, will try that next time. The people who put the photo’s on the net have been very kind and sent them to me via e-mail. I should try and get more knowledgeable with computers, I have just got the abacus sorted out! Thanks again. 🙂
Hi, Many thanks. Unfortunately it will only save it as an art image or a bitmap and for some reason or another I am only seeing a blank picture!
Hi,
Fantastic shots or what!!!!! Am I able to copy these to my computer please? If so how? I am still a bit of a novice on these new fangled gadgets!!
