The Aeronauts remake.
Here is the Irish Air Corps one at Baldonnal
Aeronauts has been recently remade in France as a cinema release using Mirage 2000s.Can anyone remember a series shown on Sundays in the late 60s set in the far east and using RAF Whirlwinds,I barely remmber it just bits with the Whirlwinds in the jungle and RAF officers wearing KDs
Here are the “crew” from RIAT not a great photo and the background ruins the effect but you get the idea.
Spotted it ,unfortunatly the sqn dont have the funds available the T4 was donated so we only had to pay moving costs.
Here is the Leeming one last year.

Heres the Whirlwind on the UK register at the Newtownards airshow.

Unfortunatley Im in Northern Ireland
Yes got it from the golf course it was still owned by the F.E.W. they got the nose section from the fire dump at Aldergrove with the intention of putting it in a Museum they were planning with Castlereagh council ,the plan failed so it lay for several years until I found it and aquired it for the Sqn.Its now at 664VGS at Newtownards airfield.
One of the head on shots ,took me a while to figure it out.
DVD of this programme is being released in September 3 discs, did anyone else notice the”Proctuka” footage yesterday?
The USAF A10 display at Newtownards in the 80s, except it was over Bishopscourt with two very suprised Venture pilots in the circut, oops, display at Ards then consisted of one flyby.
This one at a display at Aldergrove, the pilot was asked to do a flyby.he obliged ,I wonder what the passengers thought 😮
I was getting some good shots from my S5000 but flying shots were difficult so I have just changed to a Canon Eos 350D thats the one to go for.
Visited it in 98,great museum some very interesting aircraft you should have a great time.
