Looks very like Catalina to me
Yes it was Mick, will let you know next visit, are you going to Salthill?
Tony it was the curator of the museum and it was a brilliant visit, looking forwards to the next one.
I heard of the weather reports last Monday for the first time as I was looking at one of the aircraft types involved and was told by an excellent source.

I think I have pics of one ,teardrop, yellow Canadian markings taken at Duxford late 80s early 90s ,not on comp so must not have them scanned yet ,I will look them up over next couple of days.
Next we’ll have assassins selling spent cartridges!
That and more has happened NORAID and other “Irish American” groups have auctioned weapons used by the IRA to kill police and soldiers in Ulster in the USA.
Yes TLD, Hercs ,Harriers, Nimrods in Gib,Provider/Herc,Bronco,Magister quite a mixture.
In the Living daylights there was an RAF Herc in the opening sequence also a Morrocan one for the Afgan bit which changed to a Provider for the cargo net fight ,that was filmed over Nevada I think.
Little Nellie crashed at the Ulster Airshow in Newtownards in I think 1986/87 about 100yds from me,Ken Wallis stood up ,waved at the crowd and walked away, the auto-gyro was rebuilt as it was mainly the “bits and pieces” that came off,I have seen it fly since. The Tiger in goldeneye was the prototype but the mock up supplied by Eurocopter for ground shots did not look real enough on film so the props department built another more realistic one!Pussy Galores Hiller in Goldfinger is flying in RN colours now and was in the static at RIAT 2yrs ago
A tail boom from an Aerovan is on top of a WW2 pillbox at Newtownards airfield (where the Aerovan was built)and is used as a pillar for the windsock.
Little known fact the Bombs being loaded on the Vulcan, were in fact passed inbetween Concorde 101’s(G-AXDN) Engines with the covers open.
No not the Vulcan in Thunderball (1964 no Concorde around then)but the cruise missiles being loaded into the B1 in Never Say Never Again 1983.
I live in the yellow brick houses between Scrabo and the field so I know how difficult it is to get shots from Scrabo well done and I hope you post more.
Tony
Brilliant shots from Scrabo hill ,how many people were up there ,from the field it looked like a couple of hundred. In the static shot I can identify one of our officers and three of the cadets! What type of camera and lens were you using, check my threads on the Ulster airshow for pics taken on the field.
Local model shop have 2 at the minute £19.95 each was tempted this morning.
