Kennet and Avon is beautiful. Amazing that it is there thanks to ‘People Power’ getting it reopened. Probably one of the prettiest in the country.

Sky News reporting Lebanese Military Spokesperson saying pilot ignored ATC advice? Would prefer to hear/see CVR and/or ATC transcripts. Hmmmm…

Refrained from viewing the post as I only got to watch the repeat tonight. Excellent stuff. I bet half the kids on the 1990’s estate never knew of the history that surrounded them and was beneath their feet. Another small victory for our history. BTW. Took eldest daughter to Cosford yesterday, hasn’t been since her school filmed the airfix prog. Lo and behold, met 4 class mates who had gone with first timer parents, visiting purely because of that episode. Well done Mr May and the Beeb…. don’t often say that.

    Bird Dog.
Having spoken to the relatives of a Lancaster that crashed nearby, they were all aware that the majority of the weight in their loved ones coffins was sand. The remains of the Lanc that crashed, along with the substantial remains of the crew was bulldozed and covered over very quickly as the crash impacted a busy important road, which needed to be reopened asap. Newspaper reports of the time stated that police officers had the task of collecting the remains, which had been ejected from the immediate vicinity of the impact. The families who I took to the site were aware that their loved ones were still there, and wished it to be looked upon as a war grave.

Clearly, the kids (apart from one) didn’t give a stuff about Airfix kits (no surprise there).

My daughter informs me to the contrary.

She also tells me that Mr May is very polite and quite shy and had time for everyone he came into contact with at the school.

The kids tonight are from my daughters school, Thomas Telford. Head Teachers daughters just happened to change classes for the filming to get on tele. Daughter wasn’t on and she is a frequent enthusiastic visitor to Cosford. She was a little miffed to say the least!

I take it KEY will have a stand at the Duxford Autumn Airshow?? Maybe the sight of many disgruntled folks picketing the stand may have the desired effect? Should it come to this? 🙁
