The Sun is very careful to omit the fact that the tape in question dates from March 28, 2003!!! This amounts to deliberate deception. In this the case, the tabloid press is attempting to make dated information seeming shocking and relevent. Like any friendly-fire incident, this incident was tragic and unneccessary. Is this item news worthy? Only in the eyes of journalists who are too indolent and cowardly to actually investigate and report genuine news items.

    😡
We knew it was an old event. There is no deception of any kind. If you want to mention deception, how about the MOD telling the dead soldiers family that the footage never even existed?

As for the “cowardly” journalists, would you include the embedded journalists and news teams in the Middle East Theatres, that reported upon it at the time, or the other other numerous friendly fire incidents, (which also happened to take the life of a cameraman in a white jeep with a big TV marking on it that was travelling with orange marked vehicles???) in that group?

As for being newsworthy, I feel it brings to light the arrogance of our 2 governments in trying to hide the incompetence that our taxes pay for. Our servicemen and women deserve better.

    Hi guys.
I visit Legends every year. Although the prices are high it is worth every penny. I also go to bike races and (apart from Brands Hatch) you don’t realise how well off we are at Ducky!!! Donnington 2005, 4 1/2 hours to get off a field. No facilities off circuit and very few on site!!!. The missis ended up having to wee into a plastic tray left over from the picinic!! How degrading does it have to get. I travel to at least 5 races abroad each year and the UK is by far the worst for punter facilities……. but……. we have the best motorsport in the world and I will put up with blocked bogs and surly chavs on the car park to watch pure class do their thing. Its the same with our airshows. Yes, they are very pricey, but I would not miss them. Maybe I should make a stand about pricing but when you look at peeps posts on this here site about the costs of aircraft renovation/maintenance then I think my little moan is very petty. How many of us have moaned about the queues into Ducky but have walked back to our mondeo with a lump in our throat and been generally unmanly after watching Ray Hanna do his “thing” and the balbo????

Tough. Its a real shame when a real friend you have known for so long reaches that point. It must have been the most hellish of decisions. I can empathise matey.

They used to display at Fowey, Cornwall, which is a deep inlet, but is pretty narrow. (It is a natural harbour for both private and commercial shipping. China Clay from St Austell is loaded onto cargo ships there.) A fantastic sight. 😎

Saw this post and the reply on the PPRuNe jet blast forum. Love it!!!

What is it about burning effigies? Everyone seems to be doing it at the moment. Did I miss the memo that deemed it socially acceptable to indicate you would like someone burned alive

One of them looks like she’s already been set on fire and put out with a pick-axe.

    😀

Its all down to social conditioning. Look at her mother for gods sake!!! Remember this is the girl who thinks East ANGULAR is abroad! In that very tiny mind she thinks she has done nothing wrong. Her buddy backs her up like a 12 yr old on the playground. Whats the saying now??….”You can take the girl out of the gutter…………..?!!!”

    Oh and Renfrew, your sig,

We are the priests of the temples of syrinx

2112 is my fave album of all time mate!! My wonderful daughter also had the decency to arrive on 21st December aswell! Good gal!!! 😀

Sad to say but she is not in great order and I wonder if cash would be better spent trying now to get in indoors rather than glossing over some quite advanced corrosion.

Plenty of spare hangars available for the Britannia at Cosford shortly. 🙁

I think the decision stinks. Welsh Assembly elections coming up and a Labour heartland???
As regards the future. With all the furore of expanding Halfpenny Green (known as Wolverhampton Business Airport) for commercial routes by the Yokels, I think Cosford would be an excellent alternative. Close Rail/Motorway links (not single track roads like halfpenny!!) and far more room to expand commercial flight infrastructure. Now I know I watched some big bloody birds land there for the museum in the past, but would the runway be long enough for things like 737’s and the smaller Airbuses to take off? Only problem would be the family missing the flight to Malaga while I’m engrossed in the museum!!!! 😉

🙁 What a shame!! End of an era!!! Wonder if UK will now pursue any form of taxation etc on the new Monarchy/owners!! Was one of the greatest 2 fingers up to the UK. It was like Radio Caroline but with firearms!!! 😀
