So the B17 would have been improved without that ball turret?
If they could have invented a sort of combined ventral/tail gun it would have got over the weight issue at least.
Sorry, its been stuck in my mind over the years
Well the one underneath anyway

I cant get to these airshow places, so to see photographs of very good quality taken by yourself and others on this site is for me the next best thing to being there.
Please keep up the good work as its very much appreciated. Thank you.

Must be difficult to bow inside a helicopter
Thank you Andy…fantastic photo’s and such detail.
Thank you Simonr for your terrific photos, much appreciated by folks like me who are unable to be there.
FABULOUS
Well done Dave………..I sincerely hope Alan manages to take the flight.
I did tours on a WW2 bomber but the museum stopped Vets etc going on board due to “Health and Safety” and these were the men who flew OPERATIONALLY.
I was gutted. Hope you dont have any problems like that!
Badger1968 says that mountaineers often exceed 10000ft, might this be due to them being slowly becoming acclimatized to their environment?
There are notes in the book of pilots reaching 20000ft and still no effects the like of what Rockteer and Slicer have spoken about. So Im still a little confused as to how they managed to get away with it without adverse effects.
Sorry, but it was worth making sure
Thanks Mike……….Guess it’s a down the road refurb
Incredible photographs……….thank you
Brian , may I ask about the Avro Shakleton at Duxford. Last time I saw it in the late 90s it was in a poor condition.
Has anyone given it a bit of TLC?
I lived in Hayes in the 50/60s and remember the factory on station road and judge heath lane I think.
My brother in law worked at the factory , I think he was an apprentice.
How can I help further?????
