thats why Even US haates china’s progress in defence but cannot live without doing buisness with China.

Well, i hope your next post is less flamy. Promises are allways with risks. India and Pakistan have met ups and downs… Don’t want to go in details about what was exported but it aint intresting either. Cause all you want is clear. Ask yourself. Is it worth to shout hard at Pakistan in every thread?

Probably a ballanced selling to both Pakistan and India… I doubt they would move 100% towards India… Just a carrot. Besides that India knows how nice the treatment can be wen not listening and following the orders fromn USA. The LCA suffered some setback. I doubt they will risk a lot at once. India is with SU… (PAKFA). Would the US risk the leaks to SU?

Now this NSSP is not a new thing.I remember when India had pos troops along border (oper Parakram),USA was asking to withdraw troops in return for
cooperation in Nuke ,Space,Defence…And NSSP is implementation of the same..

Regarding Pakistan,USA is merely dangling F-16 carrots in front of Palkistan
while it pushes Pak to bomb more of its NWFP people…

Ask for urself till now which promise made by US to Pak has transformed into

Indo-US talks on second phase of NSSP

New Delhi, Oct 11: India and the US will kick off discussions here today on the second phase of the Next Steps in Strategic Partnership (NSSP) covering high technology trade, civilian nuclear and space programmes as also on stepping up defence cooperation.
US Under Secretary of State for Commerce Kenneth Juster will hold extensive parleys with National Security Adviser J N Dixit and Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran to explore ways to carry forward this process.

Just ahead of the meeting in New York on September 21 between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and President George W Bush, the two sides had successfully concluded the first phase of the NSSP with the US easing restrictions on supply of equipment and technology for India`s civilian space and nuclear programmes, which included removing ISRO from a prohibition list, clearing a major obstacle in Indo-US strategic ties.

Both Singh and Bush had welcomed the implementation of the phase, terming it as the beginning of a new era of cooperation and trust. Expanded defence cooperation was perceived as an integral aspect of the expanding ties.

Implementation of measures to address proliferation concerns and ensure compliance with US export controls were prominent features of the first phase.

Juster, Washington`s pointman on the high technology cooperation group, will also meet Commerce Secretary S N Menon.
