Thats an early Indian Air Force MIG-21, only the Indians paint the tircolour on the tail of their aircraft in such a large size……..

Agree with PAFFAN its one of the first MiG 21’s that India got from USSR.

But do add that nothing happened with LCA. That plane is internal.

Buddy,ALL THOSE COUNTRIES who TRY to DEVELOP something INDEGINIOUSLY know that ITS RARE taht U Get SUCCESS FOR THE FIRST TIME while DEVELOPING something U MISSED!!!

AND IN LCA(the prob was in Kaveri not In LCA.With GOD Grace No single LCA has crashed ) U must not have read the preivious posting that prob in Kaveri was due to an Engine Blade being riped off..(which often happens to Engines which are in testing Phase!!!)

Speaking of Chinese designs, let’s get back to the topic. I think China’s FC1/JF17 is a pretty cool aircraft at a great price. To answer your question Infiinity, it seems like China’s on quite a roll lately. First the J10. Now FC1. In about 10-15 years, we’ll see J12 and/or J13. And it will probably be very cheap in comparison to the F22. A 70% capable Chinese Raptor for about 40-50 million. Sounds like a winner to me. 3 J13 against 1 Raptor. Which will win? My money’s on the J13. 🙂

    Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn………………

    FC-1 very Poor cousion of F-16 Blk16
J-10 copied Lavi technology the only difference being that instead of westren systems Chinese made Use of *INFERIOR(according to u)* RUSSIAN PARTS AVAILABLE 😀

Damn expensive but good. It has to be something with maintenance.

Maintainence???? Remember about Jaguar…it was later found where the fault lied,at that time also maintainence people were being blamed but later he he..!!!

MiGs—–Most common reason attributed was to lack of AJT’s !!!Not maintenence

The reason lies that IAF practices a LOT. 😀 And due to this some of the defects which dont normally show up begin to appear !!!Wait for the Enquiry or any such info related to it!

That’s why Chinese built J11’s are superior to Russian SU27.

Ha ha ha.. Superior!!!!!! thats why they seemed to be so excited about Su-30mkk-3 So acoridng to U it is because its out of sheer love that China has for Father Russia and is making purchases from Russia to demonstrate that.

Yes it is superior because for 40 years China has been successfull in recycling MiG21 and SU-17 again and again???

Is it superior because it still continues to produce AN-12’s???

No No J-XX is still superior because it will be China who would be demonstrating “Plasma Stealth” technology to the world for the first time???

Now u talk of Designs??? Out of How many actual design envisaged by china
    have developed into FIGHTER PLANES????????

Hmm..think for yourself why the Chinese would choose to develop the JXX by itself instead of joining the Russians?

What are the implications of this?

Also Remember predictions that J-XX would end up as JV btw China & Russia
or another Russian design/tech bought and painted in chinese colours!!!
    Wait till J-XX comes!!

There isn’t a set of Sukhois in Asia which would have it easy against the ROC’s 120 F-CK-1s armed with ARH Sky Swords II. NO Asian Flanker force would have a chance against the 150 ROC “low-tech” F-16s with AMRAAMs.

    ASK Vympel,Harry about it!! They’ll sure give u better answer…. 😀

But any how if U are talking about sheer numbers,Ofcourse after certain limit
sheer numbers can overwhelm any numerically inferior technically superior fighter of any type.

Buddy throw ur 120 F-6’s aginst 10 J-10’s , The former would definately win!!

Going By the Arguments it seems that th e military planners in China have committed a great mistake in envisaging J-XX as the future aircraft…..

They should have gone in for something like SUPER FC1 with RAM coating
    and all that stuff !!!

And wrong are Russians,Indians,Americans who have similar future plans……

They should sincereley think of revising their way of military Planning…

TVC is a damn Farce, going by logic over here its RD93(F-Ck1) is better than AL-31F

Hmmm so stupid of russians who have developed AL-31F …….

Nobody in this world is going to shoot down hijacked planes with BVR missiles. After all
efforts fail and at the last possible moment, a short range missile would be used.

Yep first try is always the way to go in for negotiations ,while u can prepare…

    …. You and I both know that………

No Buddy I dont know of any other scenario except war(or to keep away agressive Aircrafts from entering Pak airspace) against any other country(can be any…)

Can we now change the subject and end this discussion, ts pointless anyway, irrespective of any US decision, PAF will get SD-10 soon……..

    Best of Luck!!

    Now back to IDEAS 2004……..

    Sure dude,Carry on!!

India cannot gurantee that it airspace is invincible.
    A hypothetical scenario for you…..

A hijacked plane takes off from Lahore (3 mins flying time to India) and heads towards amritsar (3 mins flying from Pak border), IAF have no time to scamble and Pakistani F-16s with AIM-9s cannot engage in time

You and I know the outrage in India and this forum will be diected towards Pakistan………

    Communications Dear….
Whats hotline setup between two countries(will take less time than 3 min)…. 😉

And i dont think within 3 min ANYBODY can Hijack any plane Unless its already hijacked in Lahore(or before that) itself !!!In that case IAF will be ready for any Eventuality…..
