    Thought I’d quickly stick in a few….

First was the Moon taken last night over 30 seconds. You can see the cloud moving, and also how the Moon has slightly shifted. I hope to re-create this but (much) better since my Sigma 50-500mm arrived back from repair today 😀

This was shot through branches, making it look like the Sun is actually setting them alight. No serious rendering, just colour and saturation changes.

And a couple from a lovely sunset whilst up in Cambridgeshire

Hi all – thanks for your comments and feedback

Hi Dan, she arrived at about 1330. The sun was quite high by then as you can see in the shot, but I think the haze worked in my favour and masked that a little bit!

Yup, the approach shots were taken along the old A210. There’s a layby where you can park just opposite the rental car and Stansted Audi garages. As for the other side of the approach, near the long stay car park, I normally park elsewhere and then cycle the rest, but I know the Hilton will let you park in their car park if you take a ticket at the barrier.

Will you be around to catch it leaving tomorrow?

    Adam

Ok cheers for that Adam! What time does she leave tomorrow?

But surely all that extra money can’t just be disappearing from tax payers pockets, and into thin air as many seem to suggest?

The money must be paying for labour, and materials to construct the proposed Olympics. Construction companies increase their turnover and output, expanding and giving them an international advantage once the Olympic jobs are completed. Labourers are paid wages, they spend these wages on housing, living, etc. When the time comes, flights to the UK (including those on British airlines) are full. Transport links around the UK are full of fare paying passengers. Hotel rooms acorss the South-East are fully booked, and rooms across the country may be booked aswell with people opting to travel into London. The re-generation makes London a much nicer place to live for many people. Foreign visitors have an incentive to return to the re-generated capital, bringing other people with them and raising the UK’s tourism reputation…..etc.etc.etc.

All of these must surely contribute something? I’d say that there should be a significant increase in the UK’s GDP for the entire period leading upto the Olympics, during, and after. Things such as re-generation are also proven to reduce crime rates.

I could only hazard a guess…but I’d say that all these things in return must add up to the several extra £billion being spent.

Excellent work Adam! Can’t believe you caught the 707, didn’t have a clue it was due. What time was it? I must have narrowly missed it whilst driving to work at the terminal at 16:15.

Where were you taking those approach shots from, somewhere on the old A120? It seems as though you have taken that first MD-11 shot from the fence opposite the long-stay car park…did you not get moved on with your car?

As promised, I have a few shots here. Please excuse the quality, they are back from my very first days of aviation photography in early 2004 with a £80 3MP camera. They should be fine aslong as you’re not blowing them up too big.

Taken from the FLS hangar at Stansted airport.

I have various images from a trip to the FLS hangar at Stansted a few years back. I’m in 6th form at the moment so bear with me, I’ll try and upload some when I’m homethis afternoon.

    Hi Peter,

I tried thatand found it, but its encoded and I’ve been through the list of encoding to try and translate the text, but none seem to work

Any ideas anyone? This is my final piece of coursework for my A-level Physics, and is due in on Friday.

Nice work mate, although you seem to have been really unlucky with the weather recently! We’ve had about 5 days running now of very nearly clear skies down South.

Thankseveryone, very kind of you all!

well done danny im up to 32 on jps now

what settings do you use for wingview shots

    regards

    peter

With wingviews I do my best to use a wider aperture (eg. a lower F number like F5.6) to minimise the amount that the camera focuses on the window (therefore minimising the effect of any dirt that may be on there). Other than that, just use an average shutter speed depending on lighting conditions.
