wannabe pilot – Photography from Crash gate 3 can be difficult during the day and well into early evening due to the position of the sun, time wise its pretty hit and miss at EMA although Saturday is probably the quietest day.
So you’d say it’s best probably to arrive early-mid evening, and stay til the sun goes?
Great shots Dazza! Mark L and myself are planning a road trip for the Summer, and EMA is somewhere we’re definitely going to stop off. Taking into account photography positions, traffic etc, when would be the best time of day to stop off?
Excellent stuff Grey! I had an excellent evening at STN, 334 shots 😮 !!
Slighly trigger happy, in this good weather! I’m editing now but should have them up tomorrow after my exam 🙂
Chemistry Extension in 2 hours, great! I seem to have absorbed too much information in the last couple of months, it’s got to the point now where it just wont work.

Thanks for the contributions so far people, some very nice shots. Keep them coming in, the more people we get the more interesting it becomes.
300kb I believe.
Well done to everyone that has posted so far, it’s getting interesting.
I wasn’t sure if I should upload mine, being the thread starter. But here goes anyway.. As you know since I got the DSLR I haven’t really stopped taking photos. There’s about 20 photos or so that I have taken that are all equally some of my favourite shots. It’s hard to say if these 2 are definitely my favourites…but they’re along those lines.
Both of these have been in the last month at STN.
Firstly, Balkan Holidays Tu154. I was a bit disappointed by the overall quality of the shot, but the subject matter + livery makes it one of my faves.

Secondly, is an Eastern J41. Boring subject matter, I’m not sure why I like it so much. I think I was impressed with the quality, and also the fact that the whole frame was filled by a relatively small aircraft.

I’d like to add some from Hawaii, but I’d have to break my own rules of the 2 photos only before doing that!
Just to add, please supply as much information as possible (ie. location, aircraft, airline, date, etc). And if the ‘interesting’ factor isn’t obvious, it would be good to highlight what it is.
If anything, this should produce a thread of good quality shots 🙂
Frankly I cannot be bothered. It’s up to him to convince his public that his is more than a virtual airline – and if he thinks the best way to do that is to talk to people on an individual basis at this offices then it would seem he isn’t quite as busy as you’d expect!
The way I can see it is that you have picked apart all of his other posts to the very bone, thinking of ways to turn him into a liar. But you can’t accept the fact that he may well have an office, and that he may well be willing to meet you and prove the fact. That is why you ignored it and ‘cannot be bothered’.
I too would be interested in seeing the set-up. Maybe once the operation is up again though, because then I could book myself on Cambridge-Oxford?
Back from my Physics…went quite well actually. Pretty much all self explanatory. Got Chemsitry extension paper tomorrow, may be a bit difficult but I’m not too bothered if it is.

One day I met a guy from the UK who came spotting for only one day.He flew an Easyjet flight for less than 10€.
There is daily flight to Stansted, I think.
Unfortunately not, I’d be on it right away seeing as I live a few miles from STN. There are flights on Easyjet from LGW, so I’ll keep a look out for them after I’ve got this busy Summer out of the way.
Thanks for that Steph, very interesting information. Another place to add on my list of where I’d like to go when a cheap enough flight comes up..
