My sister works airside (duty free) at GLA and she was not allowed to work today because she had/has a temporary pass.

I fail to see why the Home Affairs office have advised all Airlines to stop allowing hand baggage in the cabin.

If MI5 have been watching these folks for Months and all arrests were made away from Airports – why cause all this disruption. If it’s a threat that causes all luggage to be screened, then in my opinion all baggage will have to be screened this way now. Oh, but it won’t – it’ll all return to normal 7 days max….

Well the return trip in that lot is on FlyGlobespan, so I don’t think they did stop flying there!

After giving up on expedia etc…I tried some alternatives.

    GLA-BCN = £65.79 (GSM 733)
    BCN-PMI = £43.42 (IB MD88)
    PMI-GLA = £99.70 (GSM 738)

    Total = £208.91

But I can’t book just yet. Few things to think about first 🙂

Did GSM stop flying to Majorca?

    I could be interested too

No, you don’t have to use winter tyres – but I have, and they give so much more confidence in snow/ice.

I seen some guy in Fife – he was stuck and trying to dig his car out of the snow – that was dumb :dev2: Hahaha – only kidding.

I had good fun down the back road where I stay. I managed to get stuck in 3rd due to snow compacting around my gear selector – a bit of scooping the snow away sorted that.

Would the wheels spinning on snow/ice affect the clutch?

I never managed to get stuck, my Megane was fine, but my mates Mondeo estate did a few times.

Learnt to drive in a Peugot 205 and 106…the 106 (which was brand new) had an off-centre steering wheel, as did others I later looked at when looking for a car – found the off-centre steering wheel did my shoulders in so avoided.

Somewhere there is a photo of my beloved Focus, probably in one of my holiday albums 😀 Maybe the car should have a photo album of her own “Places where I have parked”.

A330-300…with regards to a good first car…as you’ve worked out already, the smaller the better (particularly insurance wise!) to start off with…How about a second hand new model Fiesta? I believe the new model was launched in March 2002, so you should be able to find a reasonably priced one in good nick. Ford have (in my opinion!) raised their game in the past 10 years, both in terms of design and in terms of quality, and their cars generally prove to be good runners. Ideally I would say get a Focus – they really are easy cars to drive, hence a number of driving schools including the AA use them. However, when I bought mine at the age of 23, with one year’s no claims bonus and a clean license, it cost me just over £600 to insure (it’s a 1.8 Zetec) So I shudder to think what a 17 year old lad would get quoted 😀 But the Fiestas are really just baby Focus’s, worth a thought?

Yep, I have to agree about the Focus, well, even Ford – they have raised their game so much. Their cars are good looking, practical, cheap etc etc.
