Thanks mate! If you’re looking for work when you’ve finished training just give me a call, for obvious reasons I’m very big on taking on low hours guys as FOs. Half of my mates on my course at Oxford are joining us!
Thanks martin, I like folk who are willing to give the low hour guys a chance 🙂
June / July 06 is when I’m aiming to have the fATPL.
P.S. On a side note, does the amount of hours that a potential pilot has, have an effect on the insurance rates for the business?

Passed back in 97 14 lessons and passed first time, but being a **** I got banned for drink driving (never again) so I’ve got to sit my test again – including theory, perception test and the actual drive aswell.
P.S. I passed in a Corsa.

I take it this is only used at busy airports in order to reduce hold times? If the Delta has a headwind that would mean the BA would have a cross wind.

I was finishing off my night qualification in a PA-38 tomahawk, flying back from PIK to GLA after doing 5 full stop landings. Flying up the west coast at 2500′ 90 kts, everything going well, heading for Millport before I enter GLA’s zone for a straight in approach to 05, when we started to climb to 3000′ in an up draught I though oopps what’s going on here?
I couldn’t see any cloud formations due to it being dark, plus there wasn’t any CB action forecast – then we started getting thrown about, my head was bouncing off of the ceiling, and that was the first time I’ve thought about putting a plane down in a precautionary landing, but I just kept the speed within rough air limit. We had to turn right and cross a range of hills that were about 1800′, as we were doing this we entered the down draught. We had full power on, a climbing attitude, and were still losing 50-75 fpm when I looked down all I could see was the top of clouds but I knew just below them was the tips of some hills!
After contacting GLA to let them know of our situation things started to settle down and we were at 2200′ – phew. We continued onto GLA and landed, but it did get me thinking about how safe flying in a single with hardly any power at night is? However next night I went up solo – just to make sure it never spooked me too much.

Most fans and spotters yes.
You’d be surprised how ignorant the general public can be 😉
Too true, I’ve asked some folk who they are flying with and they say the name of the travel agent they booked with – something like oh I’m flying with Barrhead Travel…….
If a few of the pax look up at the flymonarch.com they might remember it for next years holiday and book direct with them.

My dad’s a trucker and he says that sometimes CD’s just slip from the dash down until they become lodged there. As they cannot retrieve them whilst driving as it is against the law to steer one handed unless using the CB, and often have tyo wait until they stop at the depot/ for a break to retrieve them. Plus if you ever see a truck breaking the speed limit on a motorway it is because the company have taken out the restrictor that limits them to 55mph. Take down the registration number and the haulage company and report it to the police please.
BARNOWL
I thought about that, CD’s slipping behind the dash, but they look to have been placed side by side – too precise to have just fallen.
As for a truck going faster the 55mph – to hell with one hitting your car even at that speed 😮

Did they make a profit last year? Have most of their debts been re-structured?
Is it possible that they just want to fire the A320 family out all over Europe? They will have high pax loads, more reliable a/c, so it would make sense to stop payments on the A330’s, 757’s and 767’s and concentrate on making money this year, then see what they can run profitably next year?
I read on PPRUNE that a good few of the cabin crew that they had agreed to take on this year were contacted and told they had no job now, due to operational reasons.
