Are humans the only animal on Earth that kill for sport and do not always eat their prey?

EK must be getting their money from somewhere if they can afford all these shiny new planes (which, to be fair, they must be getting for around half price anyway). Or perhaps it is just the people in the fancy seats up the front subsidising the ocassional poor loads down the back…

Looks more like a start up scheme or for a low cost arm.

Exactly what I was thinking. I saw this thread and expected to be leaving a comment of “about time, they could do with revising that livery.” Was disappointed when I opened up the picture.

Although you said “in the main,” I very much resent that Jay – and anyone else who thinks that it is only ‘idiots’ who keep Ryanair going. I have always said that I have flown with Ryanair a number of times before because they have been able to take me from A to B on the dates I want with a reasonable fair, at times when other carriers have not been able to do so.

Examples being when I went to visit a friend in Torp, Norway and Ryanair were able to take me to the closest airport to my friend for the lowest fair on the dates I wanted. And one New Years when a bunch of friends and myself went to Rome to see friends. Again, I think flights suited our dates and location.

I have always travelled with them knowing full well knowing what to expect (or perhaps, what not to expect). Perhaps I am just lucky that I have not had a bad experience with them and so cannot compare their service under those circumstances. But, more importantly, they can (and do) provide a service that others cannot at times so why not fly with them if you need to? Why go to the effort of changing your travel dates or spending additional money (that could be going towards holiday spending money) just so you don’t fly with them? Silly.

I was just going to ask something similar: do the manufacturers have to dedicate an area of the aircraft to have these sections i.e. ensure certain areas are relatively ‘free’ for this purpose? Or are they considered near the end, and decide where to assign the cut-out section later?

Great shots. Is aft section of the tail purple? Are all the fleet like that in the new colours?

To me, with the ‘sharpness’ of it, it kind of looks like it should be on the side of a spacecraft or supersonic jet 🙂 Not bad though.

A film can sell well because people initially want to go and see it, and then the film can get slated by respectable critics. Similarly, something can have poor sales then later on have a massive following. My point is, it is all opinion and a few million viewers doesn’t automatically make it noteworthy TV. Besides, say around 5m (average) viewers per series? Out of a population of about 60m? Not fantastic, eh.

I actually have no problem admitting I used to watch it when I lived in the UK. I didn’t sit glued to the live stream or watch every add-on show, but would usually watch the nightly hour show if I could. However, I will be quick to admit there are far better things the money could be spent on and far better shows that could be broadcast in place of.

The first few series were perhaps borderline science, exploring how people in a confinement such as BB will interact. But after the producers realised how they could milk it for all it’s worth and fill it with an unrealistic mix of people, it soon descended into nothing more than a live, dramatic game show, exploiting the contestants.

Channel 4 produce some excellent dramas and films and if nothing else, the money from BB could be spent on more excellent channel 4 documentaries, highlighting key events that have happened, that are happening and that will happen in the world.

I was in 5th year at High School in a physics class when the lab technician told us a plane had hit a building in NY. We all thought it was just a light (Cessna type) plane. It wasn’t till we heard the news a second plane had hit and the class next door got the TV on, when we realised what had happened. The rest of the day at home was spent watching the news.

It was all very movie-like though. That is to say, it definitely didn’t feel real. You couldn’t imagine something like that happening and the fact that there was/is so much footage of it actually happening is pretty surreal.

I’ve still not been able to make up my own mind about what happened at the Pentagon. On one hand the fact that that wing was vacant, the security camera didn’t pick up any plane and that (as far as I know) there was no aircraft debris found makes me question it. But on the other hand, I have seen documentaries that say that force of impact would have left nothing of an aircraft hitting a building at full speed.

I am curious as to if someone who was overweight due to ‘medical reasons’ were to exercise 1-2 hours a day, eat little more than salads and lean chicken and drink plenty of water…would still put on weight.

But anyway. These types of videos have been around since the eighties. Unfortunate victims having something done to them against their liking and a camera is around filming it. Just watch any episode of You’ve Been Framed or America’s Funniest Home Videos etc. Of course not everyone has to laugh, but the majority do.
