What really rambles me is how stupid people in todays society are about people’s looks. SuBo is a SINGER – a person which uses a voice to entertain, the faces and the looks are and SHOULD be left to fashion.

It really annoys me too that yes, she certainly is a talented woman and, as the same as most music artists I listen to, I don’t give a t*ss about their looks!

You need to learn to live with that. You’d be hard pressed to find any singer in the passed couple of decades that hasn’t had their looks groomed to better suit the tv. Pretty much everyone would much rather look at a pretty face on the tv in a music video than someone ‘less pretty’.

So are you suggesting that you would choose to fly Ryanair over any other airline simply because they fly the most convenient route? And would you continue to fly with them on the same route irrespective of the price and no matter how many new charges are/were introduced, and also how much these charges are increased by…?

If I was wanting to go to Hannover and Ryanair got me from, say, Edinburgh to Hannover for £75 total and BA (or any other airline) could only get me from Edinburgh to Bremen for £90, then why wouldn’t I go Ryanair?! My point is, in Ryanair’s defence, I think there are situations where even after all the fees and low quality service are taken consideration, they do sometimes come out on top. Of course it is a personal choice whether that option is taken or not. It is clear that some here would not and that is fine. I just don’t think they should be blacklisted based on personal feelings and opinions (accusations not intended).

And no cloud_9, if in my example the total for EDI-HAJ came to £150 and the hour or so train from Breman to Hannover was only £10, I would almost definitely go BA in that instance (I am a tight Scot, after all).

I like the completely automated system for LH in FRA, which includes automatic baggage drop. I like that I am not left completely alone in doing it and a friendly and professional LH representative is always nearby to provide assistance if needed.
I like to choose my seat, selecting it in the seat map visible on the screen.
I find it odd, though, that sometimes I am directed to baggage drop desks, where I have to queu and have to do the same things as if I´m checking in at a desk: presenting ID card and boarding card/ticket receipt.
I´d say we´re still in the infancy of automation as far as checking in is concerned.

The Air NZ system is working pretty well (http://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/before-you-fly/at-the-airport/domestic-check-in.htm), not sure if it was the forerunner of the system? Of course there are always staff around for issues and problems.

Good clip. I suppose it is better for everyone if it’s calm and systematic instead of manic.

A little harsh, maybe, but it beats me why people fly with this airline.

Because they can be the cheapest operator (even after all fees) that takes a passenger the most convenient route from their origin to their destination. And some may be comfortable with all of their procedures and in-flight service.

I almost find it annoying that people have completely blacklisted them because of their fee structure. Perhaps they are out done on cost and convenience on some routes, but they DO serve a purpose on others.

It’s all well and good if you can always afford to fly with legacy/full fare carriers, but for those who can’t…..

Both will be operating i would guess ….
Also tommy just a quick tip, instead of asking us which a/c will be opearting why dont you simply pop onto holidaytruths.co.uk and ask them. Simply give the flight details (Number, Route etc) and they will reply telling you the a/c.

Or, take note of what people say they have used to find information in one of your numerous previous threads, and use those tools in future.

“The pilots are going to parachute out” ????

Oh come on…… sounds like “********” to me.

How on earth will that be achieved?
Jumping out of a plane at high speed (above 150knots) is incredibly dangerous.
Will the door be removed prior to take-off and have all the alarms disabled?
Otherwise they have no hope in hell of opening it in flight.
Fitting of a wind deflector would be required also..

And why put the pilots lives in danger (ok where are they going to find two airline pilots with experience at jumping out of planes ay high speeds?)

The old 707 tests were done with remote controlled aircraft….

It would be easier to send messages to the autopilot via its built in datalink to control it from the ground.

Then of course is the clean up bill… 😀

With reference to the ‘TV’ thread in General, I think we all know how this will be carried out – the pilots will zip down a wire connected to an aircraft flying along side it 🙂

BTW….I feel Insurance is EXACTLY comparable. It’s another product where the public want cheap, cheap, cheap with little regard to quality and where the traditional providers were squeezed out by budget ones.I should know….I lost a very senior position as a result but I don’t spend my time praying for the demise of the “victors”!!

I trust you mean ‘service quality’ and not ‘aircraft quality’? The latter being very important and one a lot of people surely consider high on the list when choosing a carrier, despite price.

Also, with regard to the comment about LOCO’s squeezing out ‘tradionals’ – you should have added “some traditional provider” as there are certainly a lot of those doing great, despite LOCO’s (even if I did read today that Ryanair is poised to take over BA in passengers carried UK domestically per month).

And I have to agree with Paul on the ‘knowledge’ front – people ‘in’ the industry (any industry) do definitely gain extra knowledge in some areas along the way.

Yes, Air NZ do already operate A320’s. This is a narrow body fleet renewal. The 737s are going and (more) A320s coming in. Was only just decided a few days ago.

Well as the last thing a budget carrier really needs is 2 types on a fleet, Boeing can probably call his bluff……mind you QueasyJet do it with 2.

For the time being, they are phasing out the 737s.

I presume these aircraft are just for fleet renewal to keep the age of the fleet young? And not for expansion? If so, I also pressume that it is not vital he gets them…
