I’m all for Brussels and I love gherkins, but I have to swallow olives quickly if I have to eat them as I can’t stand the taste. Still, people’s tastes change so it might not always be the way!
My problem is that my taste buds can’t stand tea or coffee! It makes things rather difficult sometimes…

It was a lemonade and a double cheeseburger for me the last time I was there! 😀
Why will it be the last time tomorrow?

I’m immigrating to Auckland tomorrow. To be fair, I may pass through EDI again one day if I am back visiting but it won’t be for a while!

That’ll be Wetherspoons airside at EDI, then! 😀

It is indeed! With a copy of AW and a pint of Stella! Will be there for the last time tomorrow 🙁

My two great loves: engineering and aircraft (and beer). With and without hair also!

How long before MOL suggests converting all his baggage holds into new seating sections – double decker 737’s anyone? 😉
Very sad news indeed. No matter what went on in his private life, he was one of the most incredible performers there has been. His music broke all kinds of records and inspired many.
I had a ticket for a show on the 16th, one of the first (which I couldn’t make anymore anyway). There are going to be a lot of disappointed and upset people out there. I can’t help but think the tour had put a large strain on him which may have led to this.
If nothing else, he is a father leaving behind three children and a brother leaving behind his siblings.

I was upset to see animals that were in such a condition being slaughetered on British TV as in my view it goes against the ethical outlook of animals and I was deeply upset by it that I had to look away as I began to cry.
This isn’t the first time and won’t be the last. Have you seen any of the popular chef shows? The first that springs to mind is Heston’s Feasts (which I thought was an excellent series). I can’t think of a particular episode, but has Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey not had shows where they’ve ‘cooked from scratch’? At the end of the day, all meat products are at this stage at some point in the process, the human race did not get to where it is today with cavemen eating vegetables.
Secondly, I was very angry at the housemate Marcus as he cut of the leg of a pig to take it into the garden as a “joke” as it was offensive to religious followers of Islam and Hiduism as they see porcine creatures as important animals in their culture and I found what happened offensive to their religion.
For those who did not see it, it was a trotter that was cut off – perhaps 10cm in length. Perhaps distasteful to some, there will be others who see the funny side of it. And it wasn’t just Marcus; Charlie had a go with it as well.
Heslop, who do you think it was religiously offensive towards in the house? The only person I can think of is Sree. Sree, the annoying man who in one episode was freely handling raw bacon and put it in sandwiches (uncooked) and gave it to other housemates. People, glasshouses, stones, shouldn’t etc
Overall I am very disheartened by what I saw and think Channel 4 need to think harder to put things on their show that doesn’t offend people like this crap just has to me!
I think your complaint would have had a lot more stature to it had you not unfortunately used that obscenity in the last sentence.
Heslop, I am sorry if this comes across as me having a go at you by picking apart your complaint – I’m not. I am merely proving my opposing opinion on the matter. Ofcom does serve a very important role and it is there to be used. I, however, would not have complained in this instance.

Personally, I beleive a good (soft yolk) fried egg goes well with any breakfast bun – including a bacon one. HP sauce is a must though.
