Personally, I beleive a good (soft yolk) fried egg goes well with any breakfast bun – including a bacon one. HP sauce is a must though.
That may be true, but as has been said before; it would probably have been far better if Boeing had given a more realistic time frame for production-first flight-EIS. They should have at least heavily over estimated the time frame so that it gave them room for delays and perhaps even the chance to finish early.
Never mind, we don’t talk so much about the A380’s delays any more so I’m sure these will almost be forgotten about in the future.
BA have been looking to partner with/invest in/take over (well, controlling shares) one or two airlines recently haven’t they? Not a move to take if administration was on the cards.
Canceling the A380 would help EADS bottom line. If it is costing more to build an A380 than you can sell it for, they can’t make it up in it volume.
Who says it is costing more to build than they are being sold for? The investment that has been put in to the programme is large: infrastructure of workshops/buildings/offices/assembly plants etc, specialist moving equipment, contracts, pre-paid parts/materials and many more factors. These expenditures would still be present if you cancelled the program. The idea is to sell as many of the planes as possible to recoup these costs…
No,they’re playing later. And blow me,today just got even better – Mr. Bee just booked flights for another holiday in New Zealand in November !!
I could put you up if I have a flat by then!

Perhaps look at how many L1011’s we operate and compare the amount of those aircraft that are still in operation elsewhere/have had hull losses in the past with the A330 and rethink your comments before you through around flippant remarks speculating the “fate” of our nations defence air fleet
(p.s. nothing against the tremendous Tri-star!)
1 year after graduation, I was finally asked today, from a ‘little known’ (;)) NZ airline, that they wanted me to start work asap. Don’t think this smile will go away any time soon….

After reading the Cabin Crew’s thoughts and feelings on passengers, I admit I am guilty to at least one of their “annoyances.” Whereas I think I have always behaved on all their other points, I have (on several occasions) on a long-haul flight; left my seat (during a movie, whilst most others are asleep) and entered the galley to request another whiskey/alcoholic drink – the thought process being that I would cause more disturbance if I hailed their services!
The Air NZ long haul fleet do rack up a fair bit on each sector, often 12-13 hours at a time. Factoring the frequency of these trips and the length of time the aircraft have been operating these for…..it all adds up. However in these circumstances I think cost is the issue, not aircraft age/cycle/hours. Cheaper scrapping it than operating it at a loss/long term storage.
Another very sad incident in the history of aviation. As is always the case, hopefully a small positive will come from this in that something may be learnt from and improved on. Thoughts to all families.
Is this the first A330 loss?
A rare white tiger has mauled to death a New Zealand zoo keeper as horrified tourists looked on, police said.
The attack occurred at the Zion Wildlife Gardens in Whangarei, some 200km (124 miles) north of Auckland.
Police said the tiger grabbed a male zoo keeper who was cleaning an enclosure and would not let go despite the efforts of other staff members.
The zoo – home to some 40 rare lions and tigers – has been closed to visitors, and the tiger destroyed.

Should the tiger have been destroyed? Was it not only doing what was natural to it?

I’ve heard the new tech: OLED, is the way forward 😉
