Another surprise is to notice that they just paint over the old painting. I think that it would be more “weight efficient” if the old paint was removed… maybe I’m wrong?
That’s what I would have though too. Essentially, there will be two layers of paint on there now. Unless the white overcoat is some new-tech ultra light stuff, but still.
Thanks.
Richard, the link to your website didnt work for me
Click on the link, take away the surplus full stop at the end then hit enter again.
A lot of wi**y-wagging if you ask me 😉
I suppose there may be an element of that, but this thread may actually be useful for those who are flying to destination X with carrier Y and want to know how the service is etc. They can see if someone else has flown with Y and ask what they were like.

Of course they were – I can’t see the Boeing Machinists strike helping matters much!
What were the figures regarding aircraft orders from both last year? Maybe that would be a better indication.

The Scots/Irish would be millionaires if people got away with suing because they became drunk!
This would seem to add weight to the argument that in correct conditions, an aircraft can successfully ditch on water.
Correct conditions exactly. I still wouldn’t like to be in a situation where, say, an aircraft at cruise loses power over a large body of water – be it a sea, ocean, or even a large lake that is relatively ‘still’.
A few things….1) For all we say about life vests – it’s situations like this that makes you thankful they’re there! 2) I thought some/all of the emergency slides double up as life rafts? Were they used here, if not why? 3) What do people think will happen to the aircraft after investigation? Simple scrap or otherwise? Would maybe be nice to sink it (again) as a diving reef 🙂
I don’t own one (any mp3 player), but I hear the Archos products are pretty good: http://www.archos.com/products/gen_5/index.html?country=global&lang=en

If they were really opposed to buying an A380/A340 then they would have went straight to Mr Boeing! As I have said, the Airbus is an unlikely winner but not out of the race, yet! 🙂
And a lot of the time in business (I’m not sure the limits), a company has to offer the contract to all parties able to fulfil it to ensure equal opportunities. Not sure if the USAF is required to do this, but perhaps.
I think President Obama should stick it to both A/B and get a few presidential Il-96’s 😀
Why should they get in trouble for calling their friends certain names? Or why should anyone get in trouble for the like? If there is an understanding between the two and no animosity about it all.
It does become a problem when you start using words of the like towards a collective group of people however. Then it can become derogatory.

…Or, just buy the ticket in the class you want to travel in, if possible :p (I know, I know, if everyone did that then there would be no economy…)
If only we all had the money to do so! Blagging can be a wonderful thing. There are great stories around of people who have blagged all kinds of things, often at great expense. I’ve had a couple of success stories, but nothing extravagant.
