I suppose the new colour may be to convey the thought of the airline taking it’s passengers away to sunny destinations. Either that or they threw a dart at a colour chart on the wall!

And perhaps the sad loss of jobs within the groups is to cover the cost of this giant rebranding (I know this isn’t really the case, but sarcasm is hard to convey through text sometimes ;))

During the summer, EDI security was open at 330am to process passengers – meaning the first flight would have left around 430-5am. That, I think, is too early.

I wouldn’t think it would be worth adults going to bed for the time they would have to get up and ready to get to the airport for.

    Just a thought,

Why, when the trolley dolly said “All electronic equipment should be turned off” etc. etc. Did this guy assume he did not have to comply with the safety instruction?

Everything is supposed to put away/stowed safely.

A contravention of a least two safety regulations?

    Should be allowed?

So its OK to interpret the regulations?

What about the possible intervention of other PAX seeing it as effecting their safety?

I’ve seen worse. A friend of mine once took a video of the take off roll……using his mobile phone 😮

Don’t worry, I gave him lots of grief about it after but nothing much you can do about it apart from make sure it doesn’t happen again

What has gone unnoticed through this entire LH 748 order is that boeing has also taken FIRM ORDERS of 5 748’s from a UFO .

Wow! First they think they have found evidence of a stream on mars, now those bloody Martians aren’t contempt with their own crafts so they are coming here and buying ours as well! :p 😀

Sorry, couldn’t resist. Yes, good news the orders are starting to coming in for the 8i.

Will Boeing do the same and display all the airline logos when the first few 787’s are rolled out? It would be a lot of stickers…

Ah, thanks for that. So it’s just the initial customer as it were. The stickers on the 380 are just there for show :p

What defines a ‘launch customer’? The A380 has airline logo’s on the side of those who have ordered it before it enters service (have they taken off the Fed-Ex sticker? ;)), however are all these ‘launch customers’?

I’m just curious as the 787 has had orders from a lot of different airlines (some only ordering 1 or 2 each) and so are they all ‘launch customers’ or is it only airlines that work with the manufacturer to create specifications for a new aircraft and hence forth make an order?

Terrific news! Maybe this will turn a few heads at other airlines and inspire them to do the same! Not taking any credit away from Airbus though. They did do well bringing a totally new plane into the market and to get it operational (just not yet airline operational). It was just unfortunate that bad planning and technical difficulties set them back. I imagine 5 years down the line once it has been in service it will pick up a lot more orders when (or if) it is proven to be a successful aircraft to run.

Incidentally, I didn’t realise that the 747-8i/F was going to be stealing the title of the longest commercial aircraft from the A340-600. 76.4m compared to the 346’s 75.3m 😮

In terms of range, what is the difference between a 777-200 and 777-200ER?

personally I like it. I thought the old scheme was too simple…..like they had just leased the plane and threw something on. the new one looks more distinguishable and permanent.

Those are Chevrons – scalloped or serrated edges used to quite the noise both for Passengers inside and for people outside.

    They look pretty good too!
