i personaly find my nikons autofocus unreliable

Interesting. I have a D40 and a D5000 and occasionally the autofocus gets it horribly wrong. Not that often mind but it isn’t 100% successful.

I use the “focus once when pressed” not the constant autofocus which can go awry sometimes.

Thanks. I can’t wait. Looking at the airport arrivals boards and some of the stuff is amazing.

The D5000 does have a sensor cleaner. The camera is superb. I used it at Manchester yesterday and the quality is up from the D40 (although that is also a great camera). Focussing is better and the shutter sounds “more solid”.

We were on holiday in Dubai and were in the hotel room getting ready to go to one of the hotels for happy hour (it was 5pm).

My missus was having a shower and I was watching CNN when I saw the World trade Centre with smoke coming out of it. Then I saw the second plane go in as it happened.

We went to the hotel and in the bar everyone stood in silence and disbelief watching the screen as the horror unfolded and the buildings collapsed 🙁

I have been to NYC when the towers stood and when after they were destroyed.

To this day I still can’t believe they are not there anymore.

It comes in handy to have a wide lens on one body and a long lens on the other. This saves time doing lens changes in a hurry.

That is a great call. Never thought of that. Only on Sunday I missed the close taxi shot of the Emirates A380 whilst trying to change my zoom for my wide angle zoom. Now I can put the 18-55mm on my D40 and use the D5000 for my bigger zoom lens.

Great shots. I love the UPS. Nothing better than moody dark skies and sunshine.

I think people are getting the wrong end of the stick here. The airport are charging £12 per car for up to 5 people so the place doesn’t get jammed packed with cars with single occupants in them and then there are hundreds who can’t get in. Sometimes it’s difficult to get in the place on a normal Sunday afternoon. I can’t understand what all the fuss is about.
