The seller doesn’t say that it came off a Supermarine Spitfire – or even an aeroplane – so maybe it was found in the boot of the very first Triumph Spitfire produced!

Forgive if I’m wrong, but to my foreign mind the phrase “off of the very first spitfire ever made” sounds more like “far from the very first spitfire ever made”. Also, he doesn’t say it was ever auctioned by Christie’s, he says “was purchased from christies auction rooms in 1991” (perhaps when they changed the decor of their rest rooms?) and he doesn’t say what exactly was “verified by them”.

And probably sadly 99% of people won’t even know they are there.

Who cares about them? What’s important is that us 1% can(‘t) nitpick!
