I have details of only one collision on the date quoted and that involved two Airwork aircraft. It sounds like the ones you are looking for.
15.11.57 VG965 Firefly TT4 coded 044 of Airwork FRU. This aircraft and another Firefly VG967 were providing target practise for HMS Bulwark when they collided head on. Both aircraft crashed into the sea off Flamborough Head. The two crew were killed.

Nennrita,
I was just about to ask you to send me your email address, but I see that you have done it. I will send you a link that will enable you to download the entire document.
Enjoy reliving your youth and have a beer on my behalf.

Hi,
Yes the notes are still available. I have actually now scanned the collection so they are available electronically if you’re interested. Obviously I still have the originals as well if that is what you would prefer.
Just let me know.

For those of you who got rather upset when I mentioned the words RECYCLE BIN. Dont worry, I will never actually consign aviation related items there.
Later on today I will be meeting a lady whose husband was an official RAF photographer at RAF Akrotiri amongst other places and she has a few of his photos left for me to examine and scan. Sadly she informed me a few weeks back that she sent boxes of his photos to the waste paper merchants because she could not imagine anyone else being interested in old aeroplane pictures. I clearly remember how bad I felt on hearing that so I share your sentiments.

Beermat,
No the Aero Engineering is just that. Its a single volume book. Has many fascinating photos of 1930s instruments, photos of radio installations etc in as well as lots of electrical theory.

Sadly not a very positive response to the first list. So thats one lot of books off to the recycle bin unfortunately.
Lets have one more try.
Bound copies of Aircraft Illustrated from 1969, 1974 and 1975 plus one of assorted dates from 1968 to 1972
Bound copies of Air Pictorial 1968 plus loose various copies from 1963.
Handley Page Servicing Notes for RAF Technicians for the Victor BMk 2, dated 1963 Massive foolscap volume approx 5 inches thick.
If no one expresses an interest in any of these then they will be following the AP into the recycle bin unless I can find a museum over here willing to take them off my hands.

Sorry absolutely no Javelin stuff.
Thanks
Thank you Alan; yes they do land it on water regularly. Only they try to avoid using the wingtip floats as much as possible to prevent unnecessary wear on the mechanisms.
Thanks for the heads up guys, I have just booked 3 seats for myself, my son and son in law. Looking forward to the trip. I wonder if it will equal the thrill of the Sandringham trip from Calshot in 1975…..

PM sent.

Thanks Peter, that confirms my suspicions also.
Did you see my PM?

From my researches the relevant parts of the system in place from 1941 to 1952 was as follows
Cat E Aircraft is a write off.
Cat E1 Aircraft is a write off but is suitable for component recovery.
Cat E2 Aircraft is a write off and suitable only for scrap.
Cat E3 Aircraft is burnt out.
Cat Em Aircraft is missing from an operational sortie.
So it would appear that an element of short hand was used (as was common) in completing the form. If indeed the E and M do refer to disposal categories then they should be recorded as either Cat E or Cat Em.
Hope this helps.
QP
Yeah I thought it may be something along those lines. Out of my depth though.
I actually don’t have possession of the item but I will see if can get some pictures of the markings incase that helps.
Many thanks
QP
Thanks to you all for your input on these pictures. I assumed they were Gosport related somehow. I had never heard of “Guynemer Stork” but a quick Google brought up masses of info. Thanks John Aeroclub for pointing me in that direction.
If any of you can see RAF Chivenor in the stamp on the Anson photo you have a good imagination. I had looked at it many times and cannot see Chivenor. It could easily be correct, I will have to rely on you guys for that.
Also the Baffin picture l0cation still looks like the Solent for me, looking N ie with the IoW behind the photographer.
Thanks to all, your thoughts are much appreciated.
