That ABC 747 is brilliant! Was there a sandstorm when you shot that? If you had said you shot it at a desert airport I’d believed you!

Where did you park your car for the China Southern and the Norwegian? I can never find a place there, except for private property (nearby companies).

Parked on the road just outside, was dead when we were there, we did have local friends though doing the driving.

ABC was landing on the Polderbaan in the evening.

Camera was a 1Dx, mostly on the 100-400 or 300mm f2.8 Is, China southern was 24-70

The clarity of those images are superb. Awesome shots mate! No excuses when you’re using that body & glass!

Thinking about going for a 1D3, but the release of the 50D is throwing a spanner in the works, regarding price and performance.

The 1DMKIII is superb, I got it cos I shoot the Premier League football now so the AF performance over the x0D is a different league. I do love my 1D’s.

Your right no excuses and there wasn’t any on such a lovely day, if I’d have screwed these up then there is something wrong.

A380 was from the footy field. Qatar was from Esso. Had the full day there. If theres some good wx over the next couple of days I may venture back but I think the forecast is not great

As for Watermarks creation, I have a action in photoshop that auto inserts it for me, just a text layer that is then flattened onto the background.

The af “works” with the 2x and x1.4 but it hunts a lot but its still very useable. hunts a bit with the 2x but is perfect with the x1.4.

Tried taking a pics of the moon on the 30D with the 300+x2+x1.4 but it was too much zoom lol!

For aviation though the fixed takes some getting used too after using the 100-400 and 70-200, number of times I’ve been pulling and pushing something that doesn’t move!! or twisting the fcous ring thinking its the zoom!

yes thats what it is Paul, I’m compensating for not renewing my gym membership, so this is my weightlighting!

That is the 300mm F2.8 IS L with the x1.4 and 2x attached.

The lens on the floor next to it is the 70-200 IS F2.8 L which is another superb lens. The 100-400 is collecting dust at the moment!
