AC = Air Cadets? .-)
awesome thanks for posting, didnt know the whole thing nearly was still there all this time, assumed the aircraft was clustered all over the beach etc seeing as theres so many geodetic “litter” everywhere, would this of been near milltown runway approach?
ah yes it probably is, when im on these beaches my minds “brainwashed” into thinking every metal part is aircraft when theres a good chance its not like this one lol, blind with my eyes open in this case
I went for a walk near that area where you found that piece, I found this strange thing, anyone know if it is aircraft related? long and quite heavy:
Yes, of course. If there are any special instructions on how to do this, please let me know. Thanks.
I sent you a Private Message a while ago, did you get it?
wow nice..
would u consider spraying it with wd40 and see if it comes up with any stamps or serial numbers on it?
is it possible to request to have a look at this spitfire? is this a recent addition? didnt know raf lossie had one, only that ww2 dakota? american paratrooper thing…
A firetruck used as a windbraker
do they break wind often?
on second thought I dont think the bodywork piece is wellington, Ive cleaned a little and found 2 serials “BZ9 Y8?6?B?0?53” and below it “25529 1077” how can I clean off this black sea salt? I see a circular stamp but the black “paint” is blocking what it says.
edit: im starting to think the specific piece is from a Warwick…
also that metal cylinder thing is from a sonobuoy for detecting submarines dropped by a shackleton or nimrod
wellington parts:
back at the coastal beach again near milltown/lossie after the ice winter storm, it washed up an ejection seat, and some really nice big wellington pieces, would love to know what jet the ejection seat relic is from it has “martin baker aircraft co ltd” on the data plate, initially thought jaguar jet but underside has 1988 and 1989 dated so tornado?? hopefully someone recognises the wellington pedal or level type contraption, it has vABL 40 stamp so thats vickers, other serials too and what looks to be “1938” as one of the stamps on it
Could be a challenge!
nah, british challenger tanks never had steering that looked like that 😉
isint that from a B17?
edit: nevermind silly me
