BMW steering stick, is that normal?
Impressive piece 🙂 I must get up there soon for another look. Have you tried the Garmouth end of the beach yet?
I was up there today yes and at spey bay but only found 2 small pieces, or a fuse box and some weird thing, not as exciting as that tailfin/rudder thing above. I found the RAF dallachy bomb storage bunkers, very well hidden in the forest, 30s milk and fizzy juice glass bottles still remain and a fairy liquid bottle that has 4d price on it. I did film at the beach an aircraft flying low past the beach shoreline possibly 2 feet off the ground but sadly my stupid phone only captured half of it. Will need to post a few photos of the trip soon
I have a circular wellington relic, I think its the fuel cover ring, it has “VAB” and a small L at the top righthandside too
cleaned it up a bit with a pressure washer at work:
not yet no, still working on that .-)
Is this a tail fin I have found today? around 2.2 feet long and 1.4 feet wide
I dugup one of those in a ww2 dump a while back
site isint letting me upload photos for some reason, heres an imgur link of the size of the tyre (I think)
same stretch of beach everyone finds wellington/jaguar/nimrod/sea hawk etc pieces along the coast at lossie, I found this part close to the firing range.
I photographed it next to a normal car tyre, hope this helps:
Hi today I found a tailwheel air ministry marked, washed up here, anyone know what aircraft it would be for?
give me a few decades and I could build one for free .-) with all the wellington parts getting washed up here it will be easy…
The piece you have looks to be Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah, Most likely from an Avro Anson MK9 Cheetah.
cool thanks for the info, what makes you so confident it is from the piece you specify?
cheers
managed to find someone with an SLR and he cleaned up the huge 1 meter long bit someone found on here, does anyone recognise the stamp on it?
