Your position as moderation team cheerleader is a familiar one and I would suggest if you have nothing to actually add to the discussion you calm down, step away from the keyboard and let it develop without your hugely fascinating and helpful comments.

If we didn’t all put our oars in then this forum would be a rather empty place? I was under the impression that everybody was supposed to input into the discussion, else it wouldn’t be a discussion surely? :confused:

I simply added an opinion to a discussion. As a result, I am not entirely sure what your problem with my post is. I certainly don’t think it deserved your sarcastic jibes – sadly, they are unfounded and unnecessary. In my view, you were being pedantic in a bid to delibrately stir things up but remember, you are at liberty to disagree with me, in fact, that’s the whole point of freedom of speech.

For the European Champions not to be able to defend their title makes a bit of a mockery of the whole competition if you ask me. Do they deserve to be in it instead of Everton? Of course they do. Everton came fourth in the domestic league, Liverpool are the best team in Europe.

Although I personally think allowing four teams into the ‘Champions’ League is a bit ridiculous anyway – they only do it for the money. In an ideal, non-financially driven world we would bring back the ‘European Cup’ which had no qualifying rounds, no ‘leagues’ – it was just your good old fashioned knock out competition.

Of course, in an even more ideal world Arsenal should have to make way for them :D:D:D:D:D

I think your stance is a little extremist. Most of the boards seem to be fun and interesting places to post most of the time. Admittedly they do go off track from time to time but I think the moderation is generally pretty swift and fair – mods also tend to only intervene when aboslutely necessary which i think is a good thing. We don’t want to create some kind of fascist situation where nobody has any freedom of speech. People do have a right to an opinion and it’s important that we are all allowed to express them.

I have allowed my emotions to get to me from time to time on GD, mainly because of what were indirect attacks on my nationality, but most of the time I find the discussion quite interesting. It seems to be only a few individuals who drag the rest down.

I hope that this forum will continue to function because thanks to the efforts of the mods it is generally a good break from the stresses of daily life.

NB. I wouldn’t mind my grandmother reading any of what I’m about to post 🙂

Have just read this thread from start to finish and frankly I am astounded. If Kev/En830/whoever has an issue of this nature to take up then the place to do this is in a PM to a moderator. If you actually wanted a constructive response to the situation then this is what you would do.

If is inflamatory and unnecessary to post it in public. I think you can all count yourselves lucky that the thread has been kept open/reopened as it has. i only hope that the issue is resolved quickly so we can all start behaving like adults again.

This board is supposed to be about lively discussion that takes place in a friendly way – surely? Can’t we try to keep it that way?

Legends 2003 was the last accident I witnessed – that video gives me the same cold feeling in my bones I had that day. He’s a very lucky boy.
