Nice to see those, all my photos are from 1975-7 🙂
First off, Kev – have a safe night, be thinking of you.
As for the riots in general it seems there is ‘talk’ of using baton rounds/rubber bullets. What a bloody waste, they’ll be collected as trophies by these scum. No, issue live rounds that WILL stop them dead in their tracks literally. I don’t want to pay for these scum to have all the facilities in prison denied to our elderly especially when they’ll come out early and be ready to do it all again. I’m an ex-serviceman and am seething at this mess which I blame on the PC and goody-goody crowd. The police are under resourced and shackled by the human rights brigade who care nothing about the rights of the victims of these mobs.
Rant over, sorry.

Nice pics of a great aircraft. In the first pic I notice what looks like the remains of a Hunter in the background, any ident for this?
Thanks for all the help and pointers, really appreciated.
Great talk on the BE2c. Enjoyed having the chance to talk to the guys involved and have a good close look at their work parked outside.
I think it should be in the RAF Museum but I doubt they can afford it.
It was supposed to be going back to the UK for restoration and display at Hendon. Guess the lads messed it up too much. Have to admit I walked away from helping when they got overzealous about doing things quickly.
Where is it now and is it available to view?
Well I was only 15 at the time but found the race tremendously exciting and what caught the imagination of the press/public was the Harrier at St Pancras.
Thanks for bringing the subject up, reminds me of some other enjoyable sights of aircraft in the 60s. 😀
Thanks for making me feel really old. 😮 I started visiting Heathrow probably pre 1960 – my father was PR for Alitalia, used to meet the stars when they arrived from New York and Rome. Wish I knew what happened to his photo album as he had the press release photos of the DC8s when they were introduced into service, beautiful pictures.
I’ll definitely be raising a glass to him – my uncle served with him on 249 at North Weald.

Lovely pictures, especially the 170.
I bet that was a rare bird, even in those days.
Only ever saw it once, have to say the same about the Air America C46s too.
Gulfstreams? Got pics of quite a few of those.
Alitalia DC8 (I remember when they were new!) Sabena Caravelle, BOAC VC10…aaaaahhh those WERE the days 😀
