the ideal solution will be a plane with a small RCS with a long-range radar F 16 block 60 (not to mention F 22)

If they were thinking about buying Rafales, then why not just take the Rafale’s radar and throw it into their FLANKER?

Rafale’s radar is shorter in range compared with Bars. While Rafale will not need a longer range radar because its much smaller RCS (compared with Flanker) the Flanker without a powerfull A-A radar will be a sitting duck with its 10 sqm RCS . It’s like to have this 18 tons beast propelled by two small R88…

The F-16 is one of the most efficient plane in dogfight because it can sustain 9G and have a thrust to wieght ratio.
Wrong. The F-16 best turn rate/radius combo is achieved at 5,5g to 7,33g sustained.
A lot of plane can sustain 9G like the F-16, mirage 2000 included but to do this plane have to go faster then reducing their turn rates.
What is really good with the f-16 is his ability to sustain from 5,5 to 7,33g to obtain his best turn rate/radius combo.
While the static thrust to weight ratio is indeed greater than one, the real thrust, wich is , as on other palnes, lower, doesn’t provides that greater than one T/W ratio.

What ‘s really good about F 16 C and F 15 E is their ability to sustain 9 Gs at full internal fuel load and some respectable weapon load

If flanker was so bad ask Malaysians who recently chose them

Malayesia is a curiosity (personal opinion). They operate already two types of a/c mig 29 and F 18. Now they intend to nuy Su 30, and as afr as I know they are interested in the SuperHorror. Now that’s idiot: just to make a statement (we are absolutely intependent, we are master in our own homeyard, bla, bla) they will operate four diferent a/c for a total air fleet of, how much-40-50?

Wow u feel brave ehh.. ???

Why should I?-I’m not American

PS: CIA supplied arms to both Iran & Iraq during Iran- Iraq war

Quote:
Pakistan?-Ask Dr. Khan…

I would better ask musharaf rather than Khan

Lava, the point is that if you have money, and if your country is not rulled by a bunch of mullah, if you not brake the terms under you buy the weapons, the best buy was, is and will be Amertican.

[I]u are funny man!! I think all of us remember what humilation large Ultra modren USAF with superb state of art planes had to undergo due to punny obsolete North Vietnamese Mig 19’s.[/I

Wow, brilliant argument!
And what was the final kll ratio in that war?]Quoting same Iran example… ask those countries who bought american equipment… later had to face upheavel task of maintaining those very equipment when america withdraws support to suit its convenience!!

PS: ask Pakistan

Irellevant examples.

If the Iranians would not hed dozens of American as hostages for months, ifthey would not support terrorist organizations they would be good US weapon customenrs even today

Pakistan?-Ask Dr. Khan…

Unlike P-40 which had more than its share of fame and supporters, the F2A Buffalo was the most maligned fighter in American history from WWII to the present. But anyone who actually looks at the Buffalo overall record would be shocked at the number of kills the plane piled up under a few good men.

Don’t forget P39 Airacobra. Hated by the Americans, loved by the Russians

I wouldn’t say christmas candle, more like vaporized jet fuel, flames, and spinning turbines against a runway all at several hundred mph.

Also to be considered the plane crashed on takeoff, which means a lot of fuel

You forgot what kind of humilation ur Famed starFighter had to undergo due to Target drone Mig21

Please, don’t bring into discution the Pak-Ind conflicts. The reports on each side are so overinflated that no one could trust them.

Did you know that during WW2 the UK alone, not to mention the rest of the Commonwealth, lost as many people as the USA did and yet our population is/was 5 or 6 times smaller? Yet we get it rammed down our throats year on year since that the USA won the war single handed and paid in blood for our freedom? When you say things like this do you think for one second about all the Brits, and not to mention the rest of the Commonwealth, who paid in blood to hand you yours? Yet we never for one second pretend that we did it all alone and Gods forbid if we don’t think about the part the USA paid, that would be unforgiveable.

WTF have to do WWII with F22 ???

The difference is that UK was attacked (or to be accurate declare war to Germany) so the Brits had to fight to defend themselves, while the Americans died (more or less compared to the Bits is not so important) for the freedom of others.
What to say about the 15.000.000-20.000.000 Russians loses?

Phantom,SOC,Sens:

Guys, guys don’ t be so harsh with Mig.
Let’s face it: the Russians produced the best target drones in the world (Mig 15,MiG 17,MiG 19,MiG 21,MiG 29,….) withouth them would USAF/USN ever achieve a kill ratio of 10:1 in Korea, 4:1 in Vietnam? Not to mention the F 15 104:0, or the F 16 72:0.
I think that only Dassault could be regarded as the only serious challeger of MiG in the lucrative target drone business…

Let’s compare the Su-27SM and the F-18E, I’m ALL up for it. And then again, you could have compared the Mig-29SMT (essentially a Mig-29M) to the F-18C since the Hornets have received updated APG-73 radars like the Super Hornet, and the Mig-29SMT is essentially an old Mig-29S airframe.

You are wrong about the designation of these aircrafts:

To be more accurate if the Su-27 SM encounters an American fighter it automaticaly become QSu-27 SMWWZZYY. Accordingly the Mig 29 SMT would transform itself in the highly capable QMiG 29 whatever (M, SM, SMT,ZZZRRTT )

I find amusing the way the Russian aircraft (weapons, engines) fanatics compare their beloved toys with the American s**t. They take the latest prototypes and future (paper) versions and compare them with US items that have decades of operational activity.

So, what should we undestand? That the MiG 29 M2, ZZZYY99 or what ever MiG decide to baptise this week its future plane is better than the F/A 18 C/D (entered in operational service in 1987)?

Wow! US Navy pilots must **** in their flight suites when will meet the super MiG 29 ZZWWXX!

Not to mention the F 22 drivers, when they will read the specifications of PAK FA (with the latest N 00888 radar that could detect simoultaniously 100 Raptors 400 Nmiles away and launch against them from its internal weapons bay 20 of the latest R 77-GGG with 300 Nmiles range, while in the same time fire 10 of the well known Kh 31PPP ram jet missile against 600 Nmiles ground targets )

ha ! how the high and mighty have fallen ??

ohh… superb plane *thumbs up*

There are a lot of Americans on this forum (I am not one of them), but I don’t remember they celebrate when a Russian (Freach, Indian, etc) plane crashed. Sad reactions…
