But what’s the purpose of it, as it does not look like a high loiter design like most UCAVs? Is it intended for fast strike missions? Is it meant as a high speed target drone?
“An” in this case does not meant black, it should mean “Stealth”.
The same idea with “An Chi” from Wusha story book (Ancient Kungfu).
It looks like the Chinese started to having their own idea of “6 Gen”.

Nonsense. Look at your own post. If I were to make one generalizing about the J-10 and Chinese posters in a similar vein, you’d be yelling from the rafters.

There is no need to yell. You can make any generalization about J10 if you want, as long as you are making sense with logic and reasoning. And have a good support for your statement, not just some silly statement without any valid explanation.
More selective reading. How many threads in this forum have played exactly by the script? My post & Bringitons response (which implies he understood what I said) clearly refer to a specific situation- F-16 Block 52’s against a LCA. Reason I referred to that was because a poster had said that the MMR needs to be an AESA, I pointed out that for many of its possible threats (including the vast majority of third generation fighters), it needs no such thing, and with AWACS on both sides, the situation becomes even more fluid. How you read that into some insult against the J-10 is beyond me. A hundred times over with reference to the context in which the post was made, yet you persist. I hold my own views on the J-10 vs the LCA, but based as it is on Indian data, I know you guys will not believe it, and it will lead to more flaming, so I already said I have no interest in going down that path..but hey, as if it matters!
No one said you insult J10, don’t be so overreact. It is just some statement you made in this thread need clarification, and just wonder how you come up with that kind of statement. It seems like you cannot answer or give explanation to your own “QUOTE”. Then, starting to ask MOD to lock the thread and accusing of other posters flaming.

LCA’s rader (MMR) is not workng properly. How can it has the first look?
I rember Indian posters boosted their MMR is so advance and it is “State of the Art” that it is better than F16’s radar, Gripen’s radar etc. Now they said it is suck, and they changed their mind to AESA. Their wishful thinking is just beyond the reality.
Comparing a wishful paper imaginary plane (means with AESA) with an already service plane is just ridiculous. By the time LCA has AESA (assume it will), that might be 10-15 years down the road, J10 already evolved into a stealth, 3-D vactoring engine, plus its own AESA, called Super J10.
I have tried to find LCA + AESA over the net, the whole BR etc, but no concrete info that LCA will get AESA, at least not for now.
It is just that people were disappointed with not fully workable MMR, so they wished LCA bypasses MMR and get AESA instead.
Some one think these Russia internet articles will prove J10 is a Levi clone, and will prove China cannot build its own fighter, but at the end it turns out it is only internet translation/ cut and paste of some fake/make up article.
I don’t give a damn to all these cut and past internet articles. Just trust your own eyes. Just compare side by side and you will see the difference.
If similar configuration can be called a clone, then all the planes in the world are just cloning each other.
Use your own eyes, your brain to watch and evaluate, don’t just blindly follow these low IQ articles.

Look at that FAT Chinese engineer, can he fit into this small cockpit?
Now, I must say this cockpit design and layout is very advance and on par to the latest aircrafts like F-16 C/D, Gripen etc.
But they still need a wide angle view of HUD.
