Thanks for the replies and a shame that there wasn’t the interest or opportunity, would have been a lovely scheme and little run around for a squadron somewhere or other.
Thought I’d do a ‘what if’ for you all anyway.
Wow, looking great! It would be very interesting to see a mock combat with a Gladiator, or one of the Hawker bipes…. sadly won´t happen. Thanks for your drawing, like it!

Hi HFL/Dornier, I found a sideview of AC + 939 (for a sim) in this link. I think the colur is much more realistic than the other one, as I know those guys try really hard to get it right. Just scroll down to Do 27, the lower one.
Michael
Just use the 2nd link

It seems, it could have had a different (later ) colourscheme as well, like the one seen on this pic ( AC+929)

Is there any record of a Hs123 falling into Allied hands at any point during the war? I only have evidence of them in Spain, China and with the Luftwaffe but were they all withdrawn or destroyed before any could be liberated?
Thanks
@inkworm: I doubt any Hs 123 has survived anywhere. Just keep in mind, that the 123 was regarded obsolete when the Ju 87 Stuka entered service. Contrary to that believe all the available 123´s were used up till late spring 1944, in ever smaller numbers, scratching together every available airframe and spares. Due to scrapping tools and jigs in 1940, no “new” spares or even airframes could be produced, as demanded by W. von Richthofen. So they were used up until there were so few left, that it made no sense to keep them in service because not enough were left to operate them as a seperate type.
Interestingly they used the same engines as the Ju 52.

If you are interested in the other Lufthansa operated historic planes as well, have a look here:

Oh feck…!
I have absolutely NO idea what made me think Hans Dittes! Although I couldn’t think for the life of me who owned the Buchon at the time. That’ll be why!!
Thanks for the correction, chaps!
Anyway, does Mr Eichorn still fly these days?
(And I had the day off today. Long weekend… 😉 )
Yes, he does fly, at least occasionally. I saw him Saturday 01. September flying with his AT-6 (or Harvard IV?) in a 2 ship formation with his son, Toni. They came for the Breitscheid Airshow on 2.nd September.

(Walter is standing behind the wing)
P.S.: It´s Eichhorn
Michael
And another one rising from her ashes like the legendary phoenix, but still a long way till maidenflight, I hope to see her live some day…..

P.S.: Sanders is rebuilding the fuselage, while MeierMotors is responsible for wings and completing, will be Centaurus powered as well.
I do have a question regarding the AAC 1 Toucan which one of you might be able to answer. When I tried to find out which powerplant was used by Amiot on the post war produced Toucans, I got the answer: BMW 132. I do know it was the main (but one of many different kind of) engines used for the Ju 52. But: Did Amiot really use (German made) BMW´s? Or licence produced ones? Or French ones? American P&W´s? Just curious. But I do like to, no, I just must know, lol. :dev2:

Unbelievable! Talk about criminal neglect!
When I read the report, just the same words formed in my mind: Criminal neglect. It is unbelievable how anybody can endanger lots of people in such a way. If you can not operate an aircraft safely, you just have to refrain from it.

My favourite movie scene is the low level airfield attack of the Messerschmitt´s on the airfield in France of Battle Of Britain, simply stunning, and no CGI at all, simple plain old flying!! 5:10 to 5:50 😀
Michael
I just found several videoclips of the Ju 52, link is to the one showing approach Norwich (part 2), you will find clips of departure and others as well. Well worth watching.

If Walter Eichhorn was flying the third Buchon, it most probably is the 3rd one, D-FEHD, owner Hans Dittes (AFAIK it always had a four blade prop as Buchon). It was used to build Bf (Me) 109 G-10 Black 2, (now Yellow 3) D-FDME, now with Messerschmitt-Stiftung (EADS).
